Is there a way to get back the official software? I've had my fun with Cyanogenmod and Trickdroid doesnt seem to want to work. What are the chances we get an AOSP?

i reckon three are going to the firmware and the 4.2.2 update all in one.

Any reason why the one wont connect with a old nokia 6230i car kit?

You'll need a US Play account.

Just browsing through this thread and the consensus seems to be pretty positive towards the HTC One. I'm upgrading from my 4S and want to get away from Apple but the new Nokia 925 Windows phone is tempting me too. Have people been experiencing any problems with their One? I've noticed a couple of remarks about it running hot.

the one feels hotter than a lot of phones because the aluminium acts like a massive heat sink. the phone actually runs cooler than it's predecessor, and the s4, i believe.

And Aluminium is a good thermal and electrical conductorof heat so I wouldn't too much about it getting hot, Super furry.

HTC release their stock ROMs as executables called RUU's

You can find a list of them here, and can run it on a Windows computer.

The below may be the one you are looking for:
    RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A.13. 3231.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed.exe

Went with the HTC One in the end, picked it up this morning and it's an impressive piece of kit. Can anyone recommend a case for it? Trawled the phone shops on Grafton Street and all they had was a pretty clunky and ugly Otterbox.

That is the point of cases... you buy a beautifully designed phone made from exquisite materials that is engineered to be ultra thin, then you cover it in ugly plastic and rubber, hiding its design to protect it from something (?)... I would prefer to experience using the device...

I have the official Double Dip case for my One. Liked it at first, but when I had taken it off to clean the dust from underneath I noticed it had scratched the body and the camera lens! :( There was probably a bit of dust or something on it when I was putting it on. I am going to keep it off and just hope that I don't drop it. Also still no updates on the firmware or JB 4.2 from Three, sigh.

The 4.2.2 update is being rolled out at the moment in North European markets... it should hit Ireland in the next couple of days. As for branded phones; you could be waiting a while.

Would have to be Three. Free phone. €55 per month for unlimited calls, texts and data. Texts to the UK are also free on this plan.

I might look at flashing the Google Edition when Andriod 4.3 hits. It might take months and months for it to be made available for the Sense version

At this point it's no great secret that Android 4.3 is right around the corner, and that among other things it'll bring Bluetooth 4.0 support as a standard OS feature. So it's just as unsurprising to see the the Google Play edition HTC One dropping by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group with support for version 4.0 of the wireless standard.

They're awful for sending out updates though. They haven't released a single one since the One was released.

I got mine for free as well. The first bill is 49 + 25 but thats because your data and call plan started before your first month did. Its called Pro-rata billing. I got over the initial annoyance being charged 74.99 for a 49.99 plan once it was explained to me.

Not sure that's going to be a huge problem going forward though. So much of the core andriod functionality is being decentralised so users will be less reliant on carriers to send out updates.

This isn't Samsung, who need to fix their bloatware constantly...

HTC issue the phones with fairly stable firmware & don't rush out Android releases until thoroughly tested... Why would you want to be pestered with regular updates? The only updates you should need are major Android releases.

HTC have released the updates. Three haven't. The updates have included camera and battery improvements.

Just asked a question about the 4.2 update I'm the Vodafone forum to see if they can put a time line on it. I'd imagine most of the carriers here would be similar enough.

    Hi folks
Thinking about upgrading to HTC One from OneX. I am currently with Three and I see on their boards page that people are complaining about them not sending out firmware updates on time.
If I purchased this phone in Carphone Warehouse would it be locked to Three?

I have a One X bought in CW and I'm on Three and it's unlocked so I'd say you're grand.
