Considering buying one but they seam to be out of stock again . . . .

Blackwells have them in stock - anyone any advice about buying through them ?? I haven't the patience/time to read through 80 pages of this thread !!!
Also can these readers be routed to use kindle books ??

    Thanks in advance !!

Back in stock at Littlewoods Ireland for €40 at the moment. Estimated delivery time 3 weeks. Ordered one last night, estimated delivery 30th of July. Not in the rush though, so would be happy enough to wait for that price :) Thank you OP! Was kind of late on this one myself so delighted I managed to order one. Still not sure can you buy books from Ireland without rooting it? And is wi fi a must when setting it up or would a mobile broadband be fine? Thanks

And Yes it can be rooted to purchase Kindle books :)

I ordered Nook on 5th May-it arrived yesterday! It is worth the wait though. I didn't root it and just ordered ebooks through easons-used pc and then uploaded to the Nook-it comes with a USB charger (no wall charger-but this isn't a prob)

I've a spare one of these, still unopened first €40 willing to collect in City Center Dublin can have it.

Thanks, brilliant stuff. Don't mind the wait either :) Is it simple enough to upload ebooks from the pc to the Nook? Do you need a special program like iTunes with iPod or can you just drag them from one place to another? And did you need wifi to set it up initially? Only have a mobile broadband at the moment.

I don't know guys: those who waited for LW must have some patience! I had 2 separate orders from UK, they arrived in couple of days. LW order had been 2 months to arrive!!!

I hadn't a clue what to do but I followed the very clear instructions on Easons.com on help section for e readers and e books.

Have you downloaded Adobe Digital Editions? In short the Easons book is rights protected and has to be loaded on to your Nook through ADE. You need to make sure you have ADE installed first on your desk top and have your NOOK authorized by the ADE before downloading the book?

I have no idea why, but I had to removed the copy I had dragged on to the Nook and try a few re-starts until I go the ADE to recognize the NOOK. It may not be the correct way of doing it but it worked.

    Best of luck.

Nope! You need a light source to read it..
There is a clip on mini lamp you can get in dealz for €1.49...

No back light on these ones. You can pick up a clip on light handy enough on Amazon for around €10 - just put 'kandle' in the search box. On the phone so can't post links!

There are very few backlit e-readers, the cheapest being the Nook Glowlight.

You can get a Nook GlowLight at Littlewoods for €94, if you look around and manage to find a 20% or €20 discount code it would be a great bargain. That said AFAIK Nook GlowLight can give a fair bit of trouble even with the slightest damage/scrape to the screen as the light will keep shining through it. Was considering one of them myself but in the end decided to go for Nook Simple Touch and get a clip on light to go with it.

And I can't imagine a backlit nook would be easy on the eyes. The thing I like about the simple touch is that it looks like a printed page.

The glowlight isn't actually backlit as such - it is a normal e-ink display with side lights to light up the e-ink display. I've seen the Kindle equivalent in tesco and it looks great, its as good as a normal e-ink just with a built in light source. Youtube it to get a better idea of how they work...

    Hi,

Just got this last week and having problems with it.

After selecting language on it it directs me to a page to connect up, via wifi, to their site to register. I have no wifi at home and I can't navigate from this page to up-load books I have on my computier.

    Any help guys?
