It's €59 for the cm tk. I prefer the tenkeyless design. I don't like full sized keyboards.

You would pay twice that much for a full sized backlit mechanical.

Yep. €60.37 debited from my account today, dispatched today. Looking forward to it :P

I don't suppose there's any chance I could get a listen to that at some point? I've been considering saving up for one.

Right so! (Where'd you move to?)

Have you looked at the STU at all? I haven't, but I'd be curious as to the pros/cons of each.

"LAN party tax" hits Swedish gamers.
Gamers in Sweden suffer a hard financial blow as authorities decide to tax so-called LAN parties. From now on, organizers of multiplayer get-togethers will be forced to pay a fee of up to $5,000 in order to receive a "permit" to connect PCs and video game consoles for gaming purposes.

Is it just me or are governments everywhere completely unreasonable and greedy?

    That's Dreamhack gone so :(

According to the DH owner they dont have to pay the tax as its technically a gaming festival as opposed to a lan (Dont ask me how)

either way 5K isnt going to cripple DH

Is it bad coding or does the game contain really high def textures and high res videos?

its a bit of both tbh the game looks stunning but not 35GB stunning CA are really terrible at coding efficiently

Shogun 2 was huge as well but they ****ed up a patch on it resulting in a lot of people needing to download 14GB (the full game) even if you had the Disc and they still havent fixed it

The majority of any games size is textures, video and sound. I don't think even the sloppiest coding would add much to the file size. It would be more of an issue for the performance of the game.

I'd say the download size would be a lot smaller with compression. The installed size is 35gb. Max payne was 30gb and it's nowhere near as expansive.

It wouldnt have any bearing on Dreamhack anyway. But any smaller lans will be hard pressed. Quite a disappointing bit of news.

New Nvidia drivers out but not publicised yet, for windoes 8.1 (start buttoms coming back...yeah). I am getting 150 points more in firestrike extreme with these drivers.

Thing is its just the button that's back, not the menu..clicking on said button launches the Start screen.

I'm using Start is back since I got win 8 and its the dogs. 2 licences for about €2.40-no brainer. Classic Shell (free) and Start8 are also options.

Amazon do Microsoft Windows 8 64 bit OEM for £69, cheapest full version I could find. Good thing is they changed the licensing for windows 8, and you can transfer an OEM copy to a new PC without ringing MS.

I always wondered why people go so upset with windows 8. If faster, better for games, very stable, faster to boot and shutdown and has great driver, SSD support out of the box. Only issue is you have to click one button to get to the desktop. Come with a whole bunch of good software like an apple ,like photo managers, video editors etc. Looks great.

I use windows 7 in work, but my transition to windows 8 was seamless. Its the best operating system MS has produced in years once you can get over metro which is mostly getting over hatred for change.

    Yup.

    Much ado about nothing.

Went through about 4 cans of the Dealz air blaster and re-did my thermal paste. Back down to 25 C idle and near inaudible PC noise.

What was it like before that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,699 ✭✭✭Brian

Idle was more like 40 and it made a pretty annoying whine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,710 ✭✭✭Monotype

Are these cans tiny or something? A can of compressed air usually lasts me a couple of goes. Even when the the case is really dusty. I haven't been near a Dealz in a while, so I haven't been able to check them out. Plus I've got leftovers from ordering a few cans with other stuff.
