you surely have a point there…still i will not support politically organised socialism out of principle. would you go if a protest was organised by some other extremist organisation you detest, say by some nazis or so?

I think there is a bit of a difference between Joe Higgins calling for bankers to be jailed and a "Nazi" calling for jews to be slaughtered. But whatever it doesn't matter because as i said already no matter who tries to organize a protest there will be people like you who will use their personal dislikes as an excuse not to go.

they are going to town on Drumm. This was a bank just about to go down the swany with customers set to lose all their deposits. You would hear the odd curse.

On twitter on breaking news, it says that Drumm discusses or talk about the government refusing to shut down Anglo despite warnings from advisors.

I didn't listen to the tape you linked. Would that tape 12 consist of what I read on twitter?

Going by the above posts this could be the last anglo tape that they will allow us to listen to. And a very clever pick too because it shows that the government were well in on anglo just in case we didn't know or there was any doubt or confusion on the governments role.

Tape (12) - Merill Lynch told government to shut down Anglo

    Tape 12 (b)-

The foul-mouthed banker describes one woman as "f***in' bitch features" and passes a dismissive comment about another senior female who was involved in a meeting in previous days. 'same breed of people'

Im guessing a lot of very influential people want the Anglo tapes problem brushed under the carpet quickly.

    Nothing to see here....

Sure isn't that how politics work in this country. Damage limitation and cover up are underway. The people will forget quickly if it's not mentioned. Can we have more pictures of Enda kissing babies please?

I even left a comment about there been no mention of the protest on the report of the gay pride march over an hour ago and it still has not been approved.

According to the Irish Times, it looks like the Indo has been muzzled by the DPP

    The DPP has..
expressed concern about the potential consequences of the emergence of certain other information into the public domain.

If the indo hadn't of pissed about drip feeding us the info we would of had all the info by now, but now we'll never know. Game over.

RTE's lack of coverage of all this just confirms how deeply Fianna Fail are involved in all of this.

I think eventually we'll find out that the Fianna Fail party, as disgustingly corrupt as they always have been, aren't the only ones complicit in this vile scandal.

And they force a tv license fee out from you to pay for it. At least with the bbc their news is honest or more honest.

They just want to keep as much people as possible in the dark.

I'm surprised the government isn't shutting down on the internet and rushing in laws to punish people on the internet for calling it as it is.

I'm not doubting FG are heavily involved too, hence the decision to gag the indo

they need to do a better job of getting the message out about these protests, I'm sure the vast majority of people were unaware there was one happening

They can get Drumm on failure to disclose and have him extradited.

If they choose not to, that will tell you everything.

Still waiting on Bertie Ahern to be charged with perjury....No rush, lads....

trying to define socialism would surely go beyond the scope of this thread…

So you have no clear view of it. You just don't like these particular people and wan't to use it as an excuse to do feck all.

believe me i know enough about socialism to know it is not an answer to anything and i have seen the effects of socialism and what it does to people in my home country and elsewhere…socialism just does not work in the real world, just accept it.

God, if anyone or a few are ever going to be found and tried with criminal fraud and sh1te, it's just going to cost the taxpayer more keeping them looked up behind bars.

Members of the last government involved in this and todays government thats very lax, when the kick the bucket and die will cost us more in the form of a state funeral.

This is not about socialism though is it this is about your inability to get over your personal dislike of an idea. You do realise that most people who attend these protests are not socialists right? People go to these protests because the SWP are the only ones with the balls to organize them. If you cannot get over your irrational fear of the bogeyman then that's ok you can look at the pictures online from the comfort of your home but please do not whine about the SWP being there when you are not.

I wonder why doesn't someone with a copy of the tapes, send them up north to the Irish News or the Belfast Telegraph so they can continue with the story. The DPP are ineffective over the border.
