Is Tesco still selling Exynos or did they switch to Snapdragon? I have ordered one yesterday thinking that I will get Exynos but now I'm unsure of that.

    EDIT:
And how much storage memory??? 8, 16 or 32GB?

16GB with the phone. That is upgradable through an SD card though. These can be got up to 64GB. So that gives you about 80GB total

Thanks Incognito. You don't know if they are shipping Exynos or Snapdragon?

Your a little bit off there :) 68.97GB of total usable space.

I have to day my battery is pretty excellent. Getting at least a full day out of it eg 18/20 hours of moderate to sometimes heavy use.

I'm using 2x battery saver but it was still pretty good before that although I can't remember the exact amount of hours I used to get

I used to have the s2 which used to drop 30% battery in less than 2 hours for the same type of things in doing now

I'm getting an S4 tomorrow (assuming O2 deliver on time!) and this is exactly what I wanted to hear :)

Phone just decided to download update itself. No Kies or anything running as best as I can recall.

According to SamMobile.com, Meteor have not released the latest update yet.

Their latest one is apparently I9505XXUAMDE released in April

Would rooting the phone fix this problem. I was also looking at the Google play edition, I'm sure there is a ROM available to get that.

But i've no idea where to start with rooting

Apparently , the stock ROM will give 12GB of space on the phone rather than the 9 with Touch Wiz

There has been much grumbling about firmware updates in the uk/Ireland thread over on xda. It appears (for the moment at least) that three are the quickest at getting out updates and that sim-free variants will be the last to receive them, as was the case with the s3.

The result of which is that some people are actually rebranding their sim-free phones to three.

Personally, I would normally unbrand & root my phone as a matter of course, before customizing it to my liking. But after 2 years of Cyanogenmod, custom kernels, launchers, third party system apps etc. The stock touchwiz experience is actually kind of a novelty!

OK, noob questions here, sorry if they cause offence but figured I'd ask... I am basically 90% decided on getting a Galaxy S4 this weekend. Have had iPhones for the last 4 years (3gs then 4s) but have no inclination to change to the iPhone 5 as it doesn't seem worth it to me. Agonised over the decision between the S4 and the HTC One, but have pretty much settled on the S4 now. So, my questions... Anyone using the S4 on O2, has the firmware update for the moving of apps to SD card come around yet?? It's the small capacity out of the box that had me dubious to start with, but SD card would alleviate any of those concerns.... As regards charging cables, I assume any generic non-union Mexican equivalent USB to mini USB cable would do the job for me?? Android will be basically a new experience for me having been indoctrinated into iOS for years, but I have used a bit of it on the OH's tablet & galaxy mini and it doesn't seem too complex, I'm actually looking forward to delving in to it, should I make sure to download Kies right off the bat so as to ease myself through the transition?? Battery life doesn't really seem too bad to me, my 4S barely gets a day out of a charge so I'd be used to having to plug in every evening anyway... Anyhow, sorry to ask the stupid questions, just doing final checks I suppose before I go ahead and make the switch, I have a natural aversion to major changes and like to make as sure as possible that I'm making a good move before pushing the button!!

    Hi Carmanard,

Yes any generic usb micro cable should charge it but as others have noted the Samsung wall charger seems to charge it slightly faster for wahtever reason.

I wouldn't think twice about taking the plunge... come over to the lighter side of the force! :-)

I don't think you're allowed to do that here. That's proprietary software.

    Why not?

I'd understand if it's a third party app - but this is basically for stock Android 4.3 camera, which will be in every AOSP device going forward, not just Sammy handsets - it works on my N4....

Mods if there is any issue with the above feel free to delete...

Ohh sorry thought it was the Galaxy S4 camera app. Don't mind me. :-)

    @carmanard

    I went from iphone 3G - 3GS - 4 - 5 and made the jump to a Galaxy S4. It's definitely worth the move.

Far better camera, better battery life, better screen, faster, better for customisation, all round I'm happier with it.
It will take you a few days to get used to it but after that there's no looking back.

Be waned re the cables though, my Samsung stock cable or my Kindle cable charge the phone at least 3 or 4 times faster than a generic micro usb cable. Have picked up an extra samsung one for the desk at work because of this.

Thanks Fieldog , is this the full camera app? or just the gallery? been seriously missing the photosphere from my Galaxy Nexus, so much so i went back to my Nexus today

Do you need to be rooted to install the apk or just enable other sources?

Its the camera and the gallery app, no need for root. Works fine as far as I can tell, nice to have a clean camera interface without all that clutter Samsung puts in. Though I do imagine missing the video record button beside the shutter button.

Yup! I've done it a few times by accident.
