Regarding the lions of sorts. Sky sports android app is quality. 5.69 yo yo per month. Only thing that is it seems to lack red button support. That or clumsy me hasn't figured it out yet. It's great though especially if your somewhere without tv.

I actually have that download but every time after I open it I get an error message: Sorry, the device you are using is not authorised for use with Sky Sports TV

I have the S4 and I must say I love it.. Had the Iphone 3gs and 4s previously and cant believe I ever considered getting the 5. Anyway my question is (dumbo question btw), why do you root the phone, whats the benefit?

Also these pictures/adds keep flashing up on my phone and saving to my gallery, how do I stop this?

Upgraded from the S3 on Thursday and have to admit that I am not in love with the S4 yet. Not loving the battery life, can anyone give me some tips on what I can remove to increase battery life. I have switched off Air view, S Beam etc. I only switch on wi-fi or bluetooth when I need to. I have no moving wallpaper. There are no active apps running yet the phone is heading for it's 3rd charge since Thursday. Is this normal ? I have also noticed that the phone can get damn hot sometimes.

Sound normal to me :) I charge my phone twice a day if I'm using the stock battery. Once a day if I'm at work and yes a hot potatoe in your pocket is normal according to Samsung engineers !

Mine is running very hot a lot, especially at the back around the camera module and when it does the OS slows down a lot and gets very sluggish and annoying to use!! :-(

I have to day my battery is pretty excellent. Getting at least a full day out of it eg 18/20 hours of moderate to sometimes heavy use.

I'm using 2x battery saver but it was still pretty good before that although I can't remember the exact amount of hours I used to get

I used to have the s2 which used to drop 30% battery in less than 2 hours for the same type of things in doing now

I've had problems with the Battery a few weeks ago, all because Google Now was on, (Google Services took a hefty chunk of battery)

I disabled it and all is well. I haven't charged my phone since Saturday night and its still on 41%.

Thanks Kenno, I'll give that a try

Jeez you either have no friends to talk to and post all your boards messages from a PC.

Screen shot or it never happened :) I can't imagine how little of the phone you have to use to get that battery life. Even my note 2 would go that far.

If he's on wifi the whole time with a good network signal and light to medium use, I think that's doable.

I can't get that type of battery life with an extended battery. He's trying to prove he gets 2+ days on stock. As I said he must not be using it at all. I'd consider any person that gets more than 1 day if battery life to be a light user, if he gets too he must be very very light user.

    As I said I can't imagine it...

It's pretty easy to do, TBH. I'm on 40% now despite having a rubbish data/network signal for nearly 9 hours, Three's network crashing earlier, being at the very edge of wifi range for another 4 hours and having the screen on for over 2 hours. I'd consider that a particularly low battery percentage left after a full day on stock, it's usually between 50-60%.
If I had a good signal, was on wifi and using the screen for 2 hours I reckon I'd be 70% or more.

2 hours of screen on is very light usage..

Anyone else get an annoying voice response for certain things, like if I search for available wifi signals once the search is over a women's voice says "Search completed", or if I select an album or photo to delete in the gallary she says "Batch selected".

Even when phone is on silent this happens, which is annoying when in work etc.

Any ideas? Wasn't like this for the first month I had the phone, so either I have accidentally installed something or turned something on.

I had this issue. The reason I had it was I had floating notifications on, and the setting where you turn this on is in accessibility and although it is unticked to have this speech, it still talks to you. I got rid of the floating notification app and then the talking stopped.

You may have accidentally enabled a disability option.

I don't think there is a 3D printing forum, so I post it here :D

It's a 3D printed galaxy S4 holder. The mounting part is based on an old S2 holder.

Link to 3d model - blender format (link to external server as the file is to big - 12MB)

WARNING! The holder will require some (minor) cutting or won't fit the phone. The reason is that I didn't know the flexibility of the material when I was designing the holder.

Not sure anyone mentioned it here but I've seen a firmware update from vodafone just now. Downloading it at the moment. 355mb

How do these firmware updates come through. Do the just pop up like a notification from the play store?

Pretty much. The update being pushed is I9505XXUBMEA. And the UI does seem snappier.

If you haven't received it, go into phone settings and check for an update. It should appear then. Alternatively, plug into kies

    Kies. Bleh.

That may be the update to enable the Save to SD Card option for apps. If not then don't tell me that I have to update my non stock rom AGAIN! :P

    I hate kies too.
Yeah, it's the UBMEA build that was there. Unbelievably faster since the update. Removed a lot of the lag I was seeing. Waiting to get my 64gb Samsung micro sd from amazon before i go rooting. It's taking an age.

I was lucky enough to bag a genuine 32gb sd micro from adverts for €20 for mine.

No idea what I'm going to fill it up with yet, hehe.

Is it only for that build? I have the UAME2 Build, and there is no update available for me. Would that be right?

I got the new build by flashing it, yet I still see the same amount of lagging and delays. I have the transition animations off too.

Still doesn't feel as nippy as the exynos note 2

We use our phone differently me thinks, i leave my WiFi on Full time, I've got full signal both in work and at home.

I'm on the computer all day in work, so all my boards messages are on the PC :P . I talk alot through FB Messenger and GTalk so they get routed to the PC first. So during the work day i use it very little. Lunch and breaks i use it a lot.

Though when i'm out or at home, i'm on it all the time. Playing games / texting / YouTube. Even with all that i'm plugging it back in at night at around 50%

To give you an idea, I've unplugged it at around 7AM and its on 90%, Thats with WiFi on, full screen brightness and syncing on.
