The bug in HDMU where you record a satellite channel then switch to Saorview and it says tune failed isnt on the Hyperion image either.

From memory, put Soarview and the Sat channels into the same boquet and voilla !!

For anyone interested I got TSmedia and Sportmax plugins working under HDMU .
Just extract ipk file and ftp files to Triplex .
    Excellent plugins.

Open-ARP is another enigma2 firmware people seem to be impressed with.

PKTeam Hyperion has gotten some positive feedback in this thread the last few days.

    Flex
Might be no harm to add those two links to the firmware thread .

My Autobouquets appears to be broke as it's not updating anymore. Anyone else having this problem? Where can I get the latest version should I need to do a re-install of the plugin?
    :)

EDIT: Got it fixed in the end by disabling HTTPS in Webif/Openwebif

I also took the opportunity of flashing the box with Championc's Open AR-P image and am very impressed thus far, so much so that I don't think I'll go back to HDMU in a hurry.

    Thanks again, Championc!

Folks. I have been using an image from Satstation (Yoda's April 2013 image) for the last couple of months but because I could not get 1channel and a couple of other plugins to work with that image I decided to upgrade to the following HDMU image HDMU_11097_E2_spark7162_211_git_5487_nodebug_Diff0 I got it from http://www.sattvhelp.com.

Since I have installed it though I cant get AutoBouquets to work. I have ran it fro the plugins but none of the channels are in bouquets. In addition if I run CrossEPG downloader it only runs for about 2 seconds (gets to the load data stage) then stops. The HDMU image is only 2 weeks old.

I tried to record a channel and got an error message that "No HDD found or HDD not intialized". I have a 2TB Hard Drive that worked with the old image. I went into the setup of the box to initiailise the HDD but got an error message that the HDD was been initialized but there was a timeout elapsed error

Does anybody have any idea why this could be?

    Thanks

For AutoBoquets, have you copied dvbsnoop to the correct directory and set the permissions to 777 ?

For CrossEPG, have you ticked the source you want to use ?

For the disk, you'll probably have to Mount it.

All this was probably pre-done in Yoda's image. Check out Pog's guide for assistance with the above if you're a bit lost.

Running the latest hdmu and can't get the cool epg working either. One a different note, is there any way to get the channel name and programme title on the front of the box? At the moment it's just the time and channel name.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up copying over a different AutoBouguets and it worked. I went into Spark to reformat my 2TB drive and I also reinstalled CrossEPG now. I have everything working now except for one additional issue.

TV3 and 3E will not appear for me. They are on the bouquet and are at channels 103 and 105 but when I go to those channels I get a blank screen. I can get every other channel I want except for those 2.

To get around this I thought I would install the 3E player plugin(got the link for it from the firmware thread) cos I loves my Judge Judy :) . I installed it but any time I choose a program to watch it comes on but stays at 0.00. I thought maybe it was buffering so pressed pause for a few minutes but when I press play again it still stays at 0.00.

I am able to stream 1Channel and icefilms fine but not 3 player.

    Hi Guys,

Does anyone have a guide on how to create an entire backup and then maybe how to load a backup? I'm running AR-P for the past 6 weeks (maybe more) - Been solid as a rock!! Want to make sure I have a backup before I start "playing" with it! :)

    Thanks,
    Derek

It looks like there are two different copies of the Spark E2Plugin - one which allows restoration of backup images and one which ALSO gives an option to create a Backup image

That's right.. the e2upgrade plugin linked to in Pogs HDMU setup guide does not allow you to make a backup of your enigma 2 image only to flash an enigma2 image.

There is another version of the e2upgrade plugin from the download section of the Satstation forum that lets you flash an enigma2 image onto your Alien2 and also to make a backup image of your enigma2 installation.

How to install the e2upgrade plug-in:
    1. Unzip the .rar file to give a folder called 'plugin'.
    2. Put this folder in the root of a FAT32 formatted USB key.
    3. Plug the key into the back of Alien 2.
    4. You will get an on-screen prompt asking if you want to install the plugin. Say yes.

To make an Image Backup of your Enigma2 installation:
    1. Disconnect any HDD you may have. Boot to Spark.
    2. Insert a USB stick into rear of Alien2.
    3. Press Menu/Plug in/plugin_e2upgrade.s/ Press OK.
    4. Update path will show /storage/c (use remote to go into any folder you want to save it to on the USB Key)
    5. Press GREEN button on remote (backup E2)
    6. Wait for it to backup.

You can make a backup of your Spark installation too and also flash Spark firmware onto your box... see here.

Just wanted to update my post below. I should have mentioned that I only had the 2 satellite feeds going into the box when I orginally posted. I hadnt got a connection for Saorview.

Anyway last night I realised I had an aerial upstairs so I connected it to the box and tried to scan for Saorview channels. My box is a Amiko Alien 2 and it is compatiable with DVB-T and DVB-C. Anyway I have scanned 3 different times and I am getting no Saorview Channels at all. I live in Cavan so I wonder if that is an issue as I am so close to the border?

Anybody out there with any ideas?

    Thanks

No. Where would I enter this? I just went into the menu option in HDMU and selcted the option to scan the tuner and there was an option for Europe/Africa DVB-T and another one for DVB-C. I tried both. There was also options for Australia, Italy and loads of regions in the UK but I didnt try any of them.

You only want DVB-T (C is Cable). Some people had issues and resolved by scanning with Italy

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,234 ✭✭✭Fresh Pots

@ gazzar, go to service searching and do a manual scan of your closest mast with the bandwidth set to 8MHz. I'm in Dublin so I get mine on 738000. All other setting stay the same.

List of frequencies can be found at http://free-tv.ie/saorview-frequencies

Great. Thanks for that. I will try that out when I get home.

Can anyone running PKT Hyperion check if RTE player works for them ,it doesnt play for me .
1channel and other streaming apps in TSMedia dont play either, they just stay at 00:00 which is odd as other streaming apps like Mediaplugin work fine.

I like Hyperion's skins ,they are nicer than Hdmu and the buttons are better mapped .
The red button can launch Cooltv too something I couldnt get to work with Hdmu.

When reflashing the backup make sure the backup image is in the root of the usb drive otherwise it wont work properly .

Not if you are using the Spark Plugin to re-flash it - you can simply browse to the directory where the image is stored

Anytime I tried that method it doesnt flash properly .
It flashes quickly and stays at boot when you reboot.

It works properly when you use the Spark plugin to reflash with the image in the root .

Anybody know of any tv/movie plugins that dont stutter and freeze when watching something on them? I have 1channel, icefilms and TSMedia installed but whenever I play anything on any of them I can only watch about 5 minutes of what I am watching before the HDMU logo appears on the top left of the screen and the video starts playing up. I keep having to turn the box off and on.

I found a plugin called Burning Series which plays the videos fine but a lot of the shows are in German. The HDMU image I am using is only 3 weeks old.

+1 to this - I successfully flashed my backup image over the weekend after pointing the spark plugin to the directory

Is there a plugin that I can use that will find media servers on my network? Would like to be able to watch videos that I download to my phone or tablet in the same way I would on my ps3

Installed Enigma 2 followed the guide for the install and it all works fine................except the terrestrial channels. Scan found them and they are in the list but when I select them I see what is on now and next and the signal strength but the screen is black.

Tried scanning again and no luck.

    Any help would be appreciated.

You might have installed and be using a version of the e2upgrade plugin that does not let you make an image backup.. In my earlier post I had a link to a site where you can download a version of that plugin that lets you flash and make a backup of an enigma2 image.

If this is installed correctly and if you run it (and not another version which may also be listed on your Spark plugin menu) then you will get an option to backup.
