I have yet to watch both the Wire and the Sopranos. Have both on my hard drive. I also need to get into Breaking Bad. I have so many TV shows on my hard drive it's madness.

Also, the next time I am offered acting head of department when my actual HoD is away. Someone slap me and remind me of this week. It's been 12 hour days, 2 hour meetings, and me barely being in the office to do grading. All this when I'm leaving to go home on Wednesday. #stressedtothemax

I had been seriously down recently, very stressed and also sick for the last week. girlfriend arranged for me to see a counsellor yesterday, and tbh I am feeling much much better :)

I'm one of those people who watches Game of Thrones from beyond a pillow (clearly it will protect me from the violence)- how bad is the Sopranos for violence?

That's why I hate GoT, it really distresses me :(

    Me too. :(

I have no problem with gore per se, but there's so much gratuitous killing and generalised cruelty.

    It's a pity, because I think it's a really good story, but I just can't watch it.

Yeah I'd like to get into it because J loves it, but I hate all the gratuitous sex and violence.

Why was the orchestra shut down?
Because there was too much SAX and VIOLINS!!!

It's not a symphony orchestra, though.

    It's a PhysiologyRocksian orchestra.

They have at least three saxes each.

That's obviously why it was shut down

Apparently it can happen with solos though

    Saxophone Solo with Orchestra

Rapsodie for Orchestra and Saxophone (Debussy, Claude) alto saxophone
Saxophone Concerto, Op.109 (Glazunov, Aleksandr) alto saxophone
Choral varié, Op. 55 (Indy, Vincent d') alto saxophone
Légende, Op. 66 (Schmitt, Florent) alto saxophone

    And there's a list under:
    Symphony Orchestra with Saxophone(s)

I agree. That's too much sax.
    =)

Also, PhysiologyRocks, your reply made me laugh out loud, so I accept your original terrible pun. :)

Ended up having to take my laptop with me, but somehow working on an assignment is much easier on a sunny balcony, overlooking the sea, and with a cheeky beer. :D

Think I'll have a dip in the pool before I finish it off. :P

    Hi All!!
Haven't been on in ages!! Hope all the loungers are well and hi to any newbies. Have I missed much in my months absence? Anyone pregnant? Any good cake gossip?

Just thought I'd update you, I got a 2:1 in my degree! And not only did I go to my first interview in almost 3 years (after backing out of the last 3 interviews I had scheduled when my depression was really bad) but I got offered the job! A damn good one at that with great pay :) I start Monday! :D

4 day weekend, going to the Killers at Wembley with the OH, and going to the races with a real ale and hog roast festival... just need to get through tomorrow, and trying to frantically finish writing a feature! :pac:

Aw I missed you guys! It's nice to be reading this thread again :)

Thanks everyone for the congrats, it's crazy to think that 3 years ago I thought I'd never be able to work again and now I'm only dying to get in to the new office :D Got my new work clothes (including 2 pairs of beautiful colourful work shoes) all ready to go!

I've loved Belfast any time I've been there. The people I've come across have been great too.

That sounds like a great weekend. I'm not a huge fan of their stuff but I'll dance along. Beer and roast hog sounds like heaven though. :D

Emergency tax has killed me. I went a little too crazy at the beginning of the month. Some things came up that were unavoidable. Now I'm looking at a frugal two weeks. Not fun, but then again the first few weeks of the month were probably too much fun. And it's a friend's birthday tomorrow so that will definitely be an expensive outing.

I'm not a massive fan either (coworkers back in the day when I worked for GAME put them on repeat too often) - but the OH loves them, and stadium gigs are a bit of craic anyway!
