    Just 2 purchases.

For some reason I thought Judge Dredd was ""R@RE!!1!!"" but it's not. Was only €2 in the charity shop anyway.

And so, with Fathers Day looming, my better half offered to buy me a game, or leave me unattended in Gamestop to buy one.
Looked long and hard at The Last Of Us and Animal Crossing: New Leaf, also looked at Grid 2....
    So, what did I do?
I realised that, given the length of time whatever I bought was going to be on my shelf, awaiting play, I'd be better off just spending a few euro on a few games I haven't owned yet.
So, I got Assassins Creed II, Castlevania LoS and Battlefield:Bad Company 2, all for about €26....
I'll probably go back and get Uncharted III tomorrow, it's only 21.99 at the mo.
    Ah, living on the edge....

Castlevania LoS was far better than I thought it would be, very long but some of the visuals and landscapes are breathtaking. The way the move list is animated to look like a sketch pad, little touches like that.

REally enjoyed LoS only got half way through it but it has remained near the top of the Pile Of shame ahead of many more recent purchases.

The only bad thing about Lords of Shadow is that despite the name it's not a Castlevania game and the soundtrack was dull, a crime for anything bearing the vania name. Other than that it's a superior God of War clone

I was going to replace it with Uncharted 3 then discovered, to my delight, that it was free on PSN+.
Ah, but my joy was shortlived, as I found that it wan't to download 33gb of files to my PS3!!!

It is very long, I remember thinking it must be near finished but still had hours left. Enjoyable hours though :)

Yeah I thought the same playing through it. It was very good compared to the other 3D castlevanias and I thought the art direction was awesome. I remember horse sections that were a bit ****e very early on. Been playing through IV for far too long, need to just sit down and complete it, still have never beaten IV even though I've bought it three times now :o I keep losing passwords or starting another game.

Delighted with this one, cost me 60 euros though, not cheap. Have wanted this game for 20 years!

Does that mean can hook up my DC to the AWSD I have?
I have the VGA box for it.
    Tell me more!!!

Grab 2 DC controllers you don't need anymore and we can add adapters to connect them to the JAMMA connector, for video you can just use a DC-VGA box to the VGA connector inside the AtomiswaveSD cab, audio can be piped from the DC-VGA box into the JAMMA connector also

I will stick up a couple of pics of the adapter, it seems to be wired into the jamma harness. Pyongyang would know more about it. I think he told me you switch the monitor lead to a different connector when using it.

This is the adapter thats been installed there - http://www.jammaboards.com/store/vga-to-cga-pal-ntsc-video-converter-pcb-gbs8100.html

    I bought a game in a shop!
Castlevania Order of Eccelsia (spelling) brand new for only €20, happy enough with that. My collection of castlevania games grows by the month.
That is probably my last purchase until next year and keep an eye out in the trading section as I'm going to be having a clear out soon I think, to fund an NTSC adventure.

    :(

Was that from playasia or somewhere else? Mine arrived fairly fast from play with no fancy shipping.

I was waiting well over 3 weeks for Firemen to come from Germany. It seems to have done a tour of Germany. I think the inefficiency of not having a post code confused them.

Raided the RAGE '3 for a tenner' section after spotting a copy of Sky Odyssey in there. That's a long time 'must buy' of mine. I recall renting it at release and being deeply smitten by its hardcore, bastard hard aviation charms. Regrettably, I never actually bought a copy and have been kicking myself since I still get a sudden urge to take it for a spin. I know its easy to get a hold of online (certainly easier than last time I looked) but delighted to finally have a copy of my own. Disc has a few light scruffs so hoping its alright. (Disclaimer: there was sweet **** all available for the PS2 when I last played it, so hopefully nostalgia hasn't led to over zealous expectations)

Transformers was another one time rental that I never gave enough time to because I quickly realised it was hard as nails and wasn't a chance of finishing it in the allotted rental time!

And finally Ridge Racer, because it was effectively free. I actually don't think I've ever owned a title in that most enduring of series (!), mainly because I never had any real interest in arcade driving games til a couple of years ago. That, and I don't tend to buy consoles at launch ;)

Transformers on the PS2 is amazing.
    A little short but brilliant.

I received Panzer Dragoon this morning for the PS2, and nice it is too.
It's remarkable the improvement when playing the arrange mode compared to the original Saturn mode
That's the on disk version, I'll give the proper Saturn edition a lash to compare the two properly.

Got a liddle amp in the post, the AWSD should be pumping out the sounds by the afternoon!
(and I can get shot of the crappy little PC speakers from the top of the cab)

Ah man I looked at this post this morning and genuienly very sleepily thought ah no your kidding me I bought the wrong lead!

Now I have had a few coffees I read it again and realise that it was to do with me putting it upside down and am currently laughing at my stupidity.

Cheers for that. Its good to laugh.

Now I have to choose what game to play whilst recylined on my sofa.
Its the big choices in life isnt it. :o

I didnt think there was a version on the ps2.

I just looked on ebay its not cheap. One for sale at around 40€ with postage.

Does Orta from the original xbox work on the 360 does anyone know?

I havent played Panzer Dragoon since I played for a half hour at a mates house who had a saturn. Remember thinkin it was pretty damn good though.

Officially on MS's website it works. Unofficially it crashes just before stage 3 if you are playing the PAL version. NTSC version works fine but you'll need a modded system.

Kerbdog is upset at the idea that I might start cutting at the cables within to get the amp installed.
I offered words of comfort and reassurance...
Now, where did I leave that wire stripper and insulating tape? ;)

Really, I'm just going to plumb it into the jpac.

damit man, wait until Saturday and we can install it in a non-"hacked in with a kitchen knife and sticky tape' kinda way

Christ on a bike man, it's not a woody to be butchered! Kerbdog or someone rein this chap in.

What's wrong with the speakers anyway? If you want stereo get your hands on the Taito stereo amp or is it they are not loud enough for you?
