I'd say it was originally bought there and that's why they took it back in. Fairly clean considering you can see the wear on the arm rest etc and few scrapes but its not too bad.

Yeah true, sure I suppose once its looked after

They weren't Renault dealers then. With the reg it might be an import. A friend of mines father does Dublin return 6 nights a week, could be an owner driver courier jobbie as it looks straight enough.

Could well be an import not really familiar with cork in terms of how many cars are sold and stuff. Your probably right about the owner driver too. As normally when the driver doesn't own the van it gets wrecked. Some of the vans my dad used to have would get so wrecked from lads driving them they used to constantly hit things. Whereas my dads own vans jeeps that he drove would be well minded.

I know most people on here don't have an interest in vans. But look at the mileage serious going for a 2007.

It's a renault master with 803,000 km on it 2007. It's on kearys website I'm not sure why the link doesn't work for you.

I thought that too most garages wouldn't sell vehicles with half that mileage. Most would be just sold on to the trade and certainly would not be advertised on the website.

It is crazy mileage, but that's the only sensible explanation

It's only 2.5k, I'm half tempted to buy it for novelty!

I love when people try race me in hairdryer cars (not that a golf is one). They make lots of noise but are left in a cloud of dust.

Best one was an idiot recently at the lights on the longmile road. Pulled up beside me in a POS heavily modified car, looked like an FTO but seriously scangerized. Saw me and started edging forward giving me the engine revving treatment. He went straight as the lights changed to green. I gave him a second head start then blared past him. Look on the scanger's face was priceless.

Moral of the story, never underestimate an oilburner!

Amen to that good sir. I've destroyed the egos of aspiring Passat TDI's and a Merc E220 from traffic lights trying to gain the extra place, before I went nutty with the fuel screw and gov! Earlier yesterday it demoralised a hyoondie coupe, properly. The driver knew he hadn't a hope, the smell from the cat when I did let it go by :pac: Not bad for a rattly oil burner :D

Unless you drive a seriously fast car I know of a particular golf that would put lots of cars on here to shame :P

As for the van with 500k miles on it?
Take it with a pinch of salt.
I personally covered from Dec. 1991 = Aug 2003 the grand total of 264k miles in 2 Ducato vans.

could be miles wrong here but sure whats the worst a golf could be putting out? like if a mk4 pulls up beside you its never really going to have more than 150bhp tops... likewise, rarely if ever have a mk5 pull up against you with more than 200bhp.

going to make a sweeping generalisation here and say most golf drivers seems to think that they are the most rapid thing since sliced bread.

my car is relatively slow but i don't think there is any everyday variant of mk4 that would worry me too much unless its heavily modified.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,930 ✭✭✭✭challengemaster

    mk4 R32 has 237bhp

Rare you'd come across one though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,917 ✭✭✭✭Toyotafanboi

i can only remember seeing one in the flesh, and even that could have been a kitted TDi :pac:

    TDI?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,729 ✭✭✭✭CianRyan

I'm sure it has thousands spent on it and it's be the only one to worry about.

No one's saying there are no fast Golfs, there are so many though that I wouldn't look twice at one. Especially as 90% of them can barely pull their own weight.

still, custom built jobby. probably not something you are ever going to meet at the lights :P.

i wouldn't hate on something like that. just the lads with the tuning box tdi's. :)

Guys how much would a EGR valve stuck open effect the fuel consumption? managed to brake the actuator when cleaning it today on a TDI AVB engine.
