Also, Walder Frey gets Riverun in the show, meaning they chop off Jamie's aunt and uncle and his annoying claim over it.

Doesn't make much of a difference. He's the Lord of both in the books as well (given that his kids are in Riverrun) and Littlefinger is Lord Paramount of the Riverlands in both show and book.

yeah, but she gave lots of info to Jamie. They still may have the Blackfish there and all the siege

I'm assuming the Blackfish headed back to Riverrun. If they cut that then what the hell will Jaime be doing in about 2 odd seasons time?

I remember him claiming it, I don't remember Tywin confirming he'd get it...

Anyone think they'll have Jon kill Ygritte accidently next season? In the books it's clear he didn't do it even by accident but I'm thinking they'll play it differently for the extra tragedy.

Oh I hope not, that bit will be bad enough without having him do it. Wouldn't be surprised though!

Westeros had this on their FB page, what will happen in Season 4:

    http://www.vulture.com/2013/06/what-will-happen-season-4-of-game-of-thrones.html

    Their predictions are interesting. Specifically
Euron and Victarion being combined into one, which would be awful, they're opposites. We also shouldn't see them next year anyway
    . It also says that
The Red Viper/Mountain fight would be episode 9

The fight is later than I would have expected. I presume the final episode then will be Tyrion killing Tywin...that would be a great end to the series, people wouldn't be expecting a major death in episode 10.

Loved this scene in the episode, didn't appreciate The Hound's expression until I saw this still.

I was going to re-watch S1 and S2 before S3 started so I was a bit hazy in terms of memory, for instance I forgot how he saved Sansa from being raped. So yeah, seeing him interact with Arya just makes me remember how much of a fascinating character he really is.

Even though he's a monster at times he does have some sense of morality as well, if only the odd moment of it, he's out for himself but he's kept Sansa and Arya safe from harm even though he's using his Arya for his own gain. one of the best parts of S2 was when he butchered the guys trying to rape Sansa. Along with Tyion and Varys he's one of the only people in Kings Landing who looked out for her. He's got some absolutely brilliant lines as well

The Hound isnt cruel for the sake of being cruel and he doesnt derive any particular pleasure from it. He is hard though.

He is also a strong advocate of the underdog - having been one himself.

Can someone clear something up for me - I'm in the middle of AFFC so I know what happens in ASOS. Now, as far as I'm concerned, ASOS is one book as I bought books 1-4 on Kindle, so ASOS was all one book to me. I know it was split in two as physical books, so does this season 3 correspond to the first book, more or less (and Season 4 will be the second book)? As has been mentioned above, there is soooo much that was in ASOS not in this season - Purple Wedding, Meereen, the battle on the wall, Littlefinger in the Vale, Tyrion/Shae/Tywin etc, so I'm guessing they have to align the TV seasons with the physical books?

They don't have to do that. I read the book on a Kindle so it was all one book for me, and I'm not sure where the book was split. However there were things that happened in season 3 that didn't actually happen in the books until ADWD.

The writers have said that Game of Thrones, the TV show, is a telling of A Song of Ice and Fire as a whole. They will not necessarily be correlating each season to each book. Especially from season 5 onwards, no doubt.

Fair enough, I guess they would have to break the link at some stage unless they extend the run from 10 episodes. Given that books 6 and 7 are a long way off (presumably more delayed by the work GRRM is doing on the TV series), they'll have plenty of material to fill out several season's worth with what's already published. Long may it continue :)

he also intervened to save Loris from his brother in the very first episode (I think)

That was a wonderfully choreographed scene, "STOP IN THE NAME OF YOUR KING!" and The Hound knelt, right under the swing of his brothers sword.

Ha yeah that was great, if he didn't kneel he would've had his head lopped off, The Mountain chopping his own horse's head off was a shocking moment
