    IPA Is Dead 2013.

    Goldings was underwhelming, Dana slight less so. El Dorado is tipped to be the newest hipster hop... the beer is just ok. Haven't had the 4th yet.

    I think since they dropped the ABV (again) that the IID series isn't the same.

    I think the last two years it's been disappointing. It's a pity.

    Yeah. I think the further they get from their roots (Hardcore IPA) the less I like them. I really like Hardcore.

    PriceWatch for this;

    WJ kavanagh's Off License 2.99
    Drinkstore - 3.20 (online price)
    Redmonds Ranelagh - 3.99

    I know Kavangah's off license is connected to the guys who came up with the product but;

    I really like it as well, but the lads (GBB) are kind of taking the piss with the price.

    It was €4.50 (in Galway) when it was released in december.

    It was €4.55 when it was first re-released a few weeks ago (was €4 for about a week just after it replaced Stormy Port as that's how much the porter was) and now they are charging €5 for it just a few weeks later.

    €5 is the most expensive of any of the regular Irish Micro brew beers in Salt House, and I don't see how it's justified when I can get a pint of Plain for €4 or a pint of Metalman pale/windjammer for €4.55.

    3.20 on the Drinkstore website

    Not sure if their prices differ a tad in store, Redmonds price is very steep for what it is, probably the most expensive Irish craft beer I've seen yet actually!

    I thought I paid 3.50 for it the other day but I stand corrected if I'm wrong.
    Redmonds is defo 3.99.
    No wonder Redmond's website is so poor; If they had a better one - they'd have to show the outrageous prices!

    €5.10 in Against The Grain in Dublin. Pretty sure the cheapest draught is €5.10 in there so it compares ok. Not sure how €5 is justified compared to the prices you mention tbh

    €5.50 in The Brew Dock which is cheeky. Not sure why its a different price to ATG

    Yeah, that makes no sense. There is no way the overheads at Brew Dock are higher than ATG, so why is it more expensive?
    Short answer, they know they can sting the lads from the ISFC for it when they go in for lunch/after work drinks.

    The pubs in Galway all have different prices as well, €4 for a stormy port in one, €4.20 in another and €4.55 in another.

    But of uniformity of price would be a good start.

    Just went down to Baggot St Wines instead of Redmonds, there really is a difference in price on some of the beers. Got Mikkeller porter nearly 2 quid cheaper than Redmonds. I know rent is insane in Ranelagh and everywhere is crazy expensive, but I think Ill be going a bit further afield when I can in future.

    In fairness to retailers, they're entitled to price products as they see fit. If you don't like it the best thing to do is to vote with your feet.

    Absolutely, just giving the heads up. I like Redmonds, its handy for me, so Ill pay the premium for having such a good spot nearby most of the time.

    Absolutely, but it's also likely that those that price the stock read this forum:D

    Drink them in reverse order if you're having one of each in the one sitting.

    Only the limited edition stuff. The friarweisse, rebel red and the lager is available in a number of pubs.
    Quite cheaply as well!:)

    Just as well, the Boags will seem tasteless after those two.

    Speaking of tasteless, I was disappointed with the bottle of Tom Crean Lager I had earlier.

    It was just a branding exercise, wasn't even made in Ireland.
