New beta out - definitely better at getting some of the more awkward words.

The SwiftKey Flow beta for smartphones APK is available at: http://bit.ly/skflowbeta2
The SwiftKey Flow beta for tablets APK is available at: http://bit.ly/skflowbetatab2

If you hit those links from your phone/tablet, the new version will download automatically.

    Changelog / Outstanding Issues:

Defo an improvement so far :-)

New public builds, pretty close to full release now.

    http://bit.ly/skflowbetatab3 (tablet)
As one might expect, the 4.0.0.76 update includes even better predictability and easier changing or correction of previous words. Additionally, the new build also lets users “flow” in just about every text field imaginable.

The new release is very good. You can now swipe in all fields, including search fields.

There are boards apps on the android market, well basically its the touch version of the website with a few menu buttons such as back forward refresh copy URL etc

does that mean it's out of beta? How has it been lately? Also, does anyone know if you put swiftkey on your SD card, will it perform slower and worse than keeping it installed on the phone itself? Original desire user here and space is tight!

I wouldn't be moving any app you need regularly to SD. The keyboard is usually opened by another app, browser etc.

Yeah was thinking the same thing. Is flow taking up a lot more space than traditional swiftkey? I don't want to replace it only to find out I don't have room as I've only 20mb internal free and that's with keeping my email and sms clean.

Takes up ~30mb according to my phone.

Just trying it out now. Was using a swype keyboard from slideit. The new Flow keyboard is amazing. :)

I actually only went and got Swype again last night to try it out with my Note II's stylus. Saw this on CNet this morning. Delighted I won't have to have 2 keyboard apps.

Not that I need to use the stylus for typing, but it was certainly more accurate than my big hammer fingers.

Been using Swype since I got my S2 but I think Swiftkey is now a must have with flow!

New Android user here, just started looking at Swype and SlideIt. However, the permissions warnings when I go start using it scared me a bit. It tells me it can take details of everything that I type via the keyboard, which seems hugely intrusive.

Is it the same for Swiftkey, and is there any way around this?

Every keyboard does that. It has to so it can actually display what you're typing and attempt to predict your next word.

It says 'This input method from Swype + Dragon Trial application may collect all the text you type, including passwords, credit card numbers and other personal data'.

There is a difference between using data and collecting data. Yes, they have to use the data to display it and provide the prediction. But they don't have to collect data.

Are these apps collecting and storing every word/number that I type and holding on to it? Or harvesting it for sale?

I know Swype has an online dictionary backup you can use so if you change device all your custom words will be downloaded. Id say it relates to that

edit: Actually I just realised that message is the inbuilt one when you activate a keyboard. Its not telling you the keyboard is doing this, its Android basically telling you that 3rd party keyboards may have the ability to do it. Basically be careful what you install.
