Testing it out now. Have to say I'm rather I'm impressed with it so far. Virtually flawless and even quicker than the Jelly Bean version on my S3

Re the language pack, this on the Swifkey website :

SwiftKey: Due to the popularity of SwiftKey Flow beta our language pack servers are struggling with demand. We're working on it so please keep trying.

My guess for that was with play store it is a search bar and they disable the flow to be more accurate.
It is the same for me when filling in forms.

Love the tablet version in landscape, splits into two halves so the user doesn't have to stretch to the middle.

I previously used touchpal before this, but I am really impressed with SwiftKey flow. I had always heard good things about their prediction.

For those new to SwiftKey try just pressing the middle prediction a couple of times

They changed theme. There is also a flow input mode in the settings, you could try disabling it and enabling it again

Neither of these worked for me. Has anyone got it working on a tablet with, e.g. boards?

Are you sure you downloaded the tablet version and not smartphone one?

Yeah, it's the tablet version. I just tried the phone version on my phone and it works fine. It doesn't know its own name, strangely - I tried to type "swiftkey test message" but it was having none of it.

I installed the tablet version on my Nexus 10 and after changing theme like I had to do on my Note II it then worked fine on the Nexus 10 as well. For what it's worth I'm using the Pumpkin theme on both.

    Thanks,
    M

Mine switched back to the default Samsung IME after charging the phone overnight!

It works in portrait mode only on my tablet. My friend has the same issue on his. The list of suggested words and guesses is very poor but it might just need time to learn. I'll be going back to swype for now at least

This is from the SwiftKey site:On tablets, Flow is
only available in portrait mode for now.

Although I would have gladly paid again for SwiftKey Flow, it looks like it's going to be a feature of the next SwiftKey upgrade (regular version). Nice to hear about a company not out to milk its loyal customers.

Still liking this as my main keyboard. Bit annoying the way flow doesn't work in search bars though.

    This is amazing news.
I really enjoy the SwiftKey Flow style and have gotten very used to it and was kinda worried they'd charge for it.

For those wondering if it's worth it, the tiny cost is well worth it.

I think SwiftKey are the only keyboard providers who insist on this. Makes it a non-starter for. If t Kent work in search felds, then it that is a show stopper.

Not really, it works in many text boxes but not in the address bar. How useful is predictive word completion of websites?
Personally I'm getting used to flow but I think my typing style is more suited to the standard SwiftKey (which I own)

Given that the address bar is the search bar in most modern browsers - very useful.

I'm also finding it not working the in the search bar in many applications, not just the browser.

    It's still a beta.

Been using Swype for the past few years but it's always seemed a bit clunky to me and the installer / upgrades are very irritating.

Trying this out - so far so good, runs very smooth, and has a nice look and feel to it.

Seems it's to do with a flag set by the application developers.

I installed this on a mates St but I can't sizable the haptic feedback while using the keyboard??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,581 ✭✭✭Squeeonline

Not entirely impressed with Flow. The predictions aren't as good as with thumbs (even after over a week of use) and I miss being able to swipe right to left to delete an entire word. I'm sure they'll get it right eventually. I've already given them feedback.

Yes, but like most third party keyboards, SwiftKey should ignore that flag. It's set for far too many fields, usually search fields. Makes the keyboard useless in many apps.

New beta out - definitely better at getting some of the more awkward words.

The SwiftKey Flow beta for smartphones APK is available at: http://bit.ly/skflowbeta2
The SwiftKey Flow beta for tablets APK is available at: http://bit.ly/skflowbetatab2

If you hit those links from your phone/tablet, the new version will download automatically.

Mr E, how does it compare to Google's own version now inbuilt with latest version of jellybean?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 841 ✭✭✭Journeyman_1

Finally got around to installing this on my tablet, so hopefully its as good as expected and il put it on my S3 instead of swiftkey3!
