I like Smooth Calendar for its widget

    +1 for Business Calendar.

Yeah, the widget is particularly good.

Yeah, the widget is particularly good.

I've tried a few of them, and I like aCalendar best. S Planner is really good too, but the widget for it doesn't work with the launcher in using.

Another fan of aCalendar here - I like the easy choice of views (day, week, month with no faffing) and the fact you can see a lot at a glance in month view, unlike the htc stock one, which only shows a tab of colour, bleugh.

I like the simplicity of the Simple Calendar widget too - clean lines, simple layout, a lot at a glance on your homescreen.

The only thing that I don't like is that you can't double click on a day in the widget and go straight to adding an event on that day. A double click on the widget just opens the main app. S Planner does that better. That's the only drawback.

--Now on SALE - 66% OFF for Memorial Day Weekend!!--

I wasn't that impressed with the first Fieldrunners, but couldn't turn my nose up at a reduction on the second one.

Do any of the calendar apps have an icon that uses the days date on it?

On my S2 there's a widget that shows me how many apps are currently running. It's handy as it means I can avoid leaving stuff running inadvertently in the background after I'm done with it. I'd like to have something similar for my tablet, does anyone know of anything similar available?

What's the best app for tracking your phone in case it has been lost/stolen? There's far too many options out there :) Ideally I'd like 1 that doesn't kill the battery

I use this . Its fairly new so the dev is still working on it intensively, so could be a few bugs and bits, but for the most part its great.

My favorite feature is that if some one tries to unlock your phone with a password and gets it wrong it takes a picture through the front cam :)

I have Cerberus on mine for the last few days. Seems good, it takes a picture when someone types in the wrong unlock code, tracks the phone etc.

You can cook in into your ROM on a rooted phone so it can't be deleted.

Cerberus is excellent. Have it on all my devices. Can tell where they are at anytime and [if rooted] appears totally hidden to the user.

    Yup.

Some of these are if rooted

Hide the app icon in app list [access by dialing a secret pin in the phone dialer]
Take a snapshot when an incorrect lock screen process is done [invalid pin, pattern etc]
Go to Cerberus website and track your unit.

    From website,
    start tracking and stop tracking
    get location history
Send command to - Take photo/video - capture audio
    grab screenshot
    get call / sms log
    Send SMS
    Display alert message on screen
get location history IN REAL TIME
    Wipe Device
    Wipe SD card
    Reboot phone
    Lock
    Unlock
    Sound Alarm

All those location things are bundled into google maps.

Need I go on? This is a beast of an app.

    EDIT : https://www.cerberusapp.com

hmmmm thinking this could be awful handy in just tracing my steps after a night out, set tasker to send sms commands every x minutes to get my location and see what pubs i was in and then trace my steps and find my wallet, keys, etc

I just discovered Voxer - its basically like a walkie talkie on your mobile but better. Kinda like whatsapp for your voice, as you don't have to type. But different to viber or Skype, cause you don't have to have an actual conversation - more informatl just voice messages. Also does txt and picture too. Works frm your mobile so install it and see who uses it, I think its pretty cool!

    Similar to HeyTell - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.heytell&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5oZXl0ZWxsIl0.

Thought it would be great but not much uptake and why have gaps in your 'conversation' with someone when calls (via VOIP like Viber) are so cheap or FOC? It feels cool to 'walkie talkie' but the novelty wore off me pretty quick!

    Ben

Wow Cerberus is some powerful piece of software, I'm going to buy a license definitely, the wrong thing is I think I should install it on Mrs. Clareman's phone as well but that'd be like I'm tracking her.

There are so many phone tracking apps out there now. Many read messages and calls etc.. Is there a way to tell if the phone is being tracked? I know this might defeat the purpose when dealing with thefts, as in it would be best if the robber didn't know that there was a tracking app installed.
But I know that I could install these apps on friends on families phones very easily without their knowledge (and they could do to me). I'd have no interest in it and I'd hope my friends and families wouldn't either, but there are strange people out there. There must be plenty of people out there who are being tracked without their knowledge. So how could somebody check? Is a factory reset the only sure way of knowing that you are not being tracked?
