You don't have such a notice on your door, I wonder why you would join an organisation that advocates such tactics?

I'm NOT a member of the People's forum for economic justice.

THATS AN ABSOLUTE BLATANT LIE AND I WILL TAKE ANYONE TO COURT THAT SAYS SO!

I am formally asking for a retraction on that accusation!

Oh, it was the link on the DDI website to that organisation founded by Ben Gilroy that confused me.

    http://directdemocracyireland.ie/forums/topic/a-question-about-direct-democracy/

In deference to K-9s decision I'll retract and bow out of DDI discussion.

They'll just decide to not recognise the authority of the court.

Direct democracy is the form of government in Switzerland as I recall. Switzerland has a very high standard of living.
    Freemanism is mystical nonsense.

Another two, and your post count becomes a palindrome.

    Off topic, I know...

I've no idea what that OTHER organisation does or what their ideology is so cannot comment.
Anything I could add about them would be pure 100% guessing.

It's also how the state of California is run and it currently has a debt of $265 billion, basically direct democracy is mob rule in the truest sense, and a shitty idea in general.

The fact that DDI et al hide behind simplistic "MOAR DEMOCRACY FOR THE PPL, Y DON'T YOU LIEK DEMOCRACY?" rhetoric as opposed to demonstrating how things might be improved under their proposed system alludes to that.
It's hard to argue the merits of an idea that has none.

Easily found? You sure about that? Unless your real name is Biggins no one has a clue who you are.

    Very sure.
    Its been done already.
Not that I really mind - I only got concerned previously at one stage when my family was put at risk.
(That was soon sorted though. No trouble. No hassle.)

Just after having a look through the DDI forum they have on their web page. Some of this stuff makes Boards.ie's conspiracy theories forum seem rational.

Howcan they expect to be taken seriously when these loons are involved with it? If anything DDI will do more to kill off the idea of a Direct Democracy System in Ireland.

It's a pity Ben Gilroy didn't get elected ... He Ben 'I'm not a freeman' Gilroy and Gerry 'I've never been in the IRA' Adams would give Ming and Mick a run for their money as a comedy duo in the Dail !!

At the end of the day, I can only state what I know.

Mr Gilroy has NEVER gone on about any Freeman stuff to me or within my earshot at any time.
He has never stated this stuff to others that I have talked to - and they have had no reason to lie to me to either. They are close friends.

If any person wants to think along some lines that might occasionally run in parallel with some wacky group out there - so be it.
Freedom of thought and all that stuff...
As it stands there is no Freeman ideology in the DDI that I have ever witnessed and as more detail on economic polices will be emerging shortly, folks will indeed see this for themselves.
They might disagree with aspect of what will be coming soom - they might agree - but there will be none of this Freeman stuff that is going seriously across some (for want of a better word) "wacky" forms out there.

As I have honestly stated HERE:
I wouldn’t know a “Freeman” or recognise what one is if one came up and slapped me in the face with a wet fish! I have not met one as far as I know and as far as I know, even if I did, would not mind! All have the right think and believe as they wish too!

Those 'loons' as you put it are not necessary members - just like yourself, people speaking out - as is still their right of free expression within the limits of current Irish law.

I might not agree with them, a lot of the time I sure don't - but they do too have the equal right to speak.
...But because they speak on a forum, does not make them automatic members of DDI!

I know a great deal of the background of some of my friends (as I'm sure we all do) - but also as good friends, I respect their right to privacy and don't go digging into matters that don't concern me.
    Sorry if that irks you!

If they wish to inform me about something - happy days!
if they don't? Its none of my business generally.

I wouldn't lend my support to and vouch for someone without checking out their background first. Calling themselves Ben of the ancient clan Giolla Rua would send alarm bells ringing in my head.

And when other people inform you of information you don't want to hear, you'll squirm, try to weasel your way out, blame everyone else for having the audacity to know better than you and then finally just deny over and over.
    Happy days indeed.

For someone who claims to despise politicians you're very good at using the tricks of their trade when it suits.

That's a huge leap of faith to make, throwing your weight behind someone without knowing what they stand for.

    I certainly wouldn't do it.

Well thats you - and fair enough.
I'm lending my support to an organisation, an idea that "Direct Democracy" is possible better way to hold TD's more accountable and a better way for the Irish people to start no longer being afraid of the government - but that the government should be instead, afraid of the people!
    End of story.

What one person might think to himself in his own time and keep outside the organisation completely so far, is none of my business until I see it interjecting in the running of a said organisation.
Till then - it should be generally none of my business.
