did they give you any indication as to whether the contratcs would be renewed after the 12 months?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 135 ✭✭Hennesm

Nope...weren't up to answering any questions really. Just said it was a 12 month fixed term contract.

And now the sgs.ie site is down. Great.

Just had mine there. Similar questions to the above. Didn't really want to expand on the one year thing.

Frankly that's one aspect which bothers me. It's a bit of a risk leaving full-time employment to go to a job which may only be for a year (especially since the role I applied for stated full-time).

Saying its full time has no bearing on its length.
They're probably not in the position to say if any one could be kept on. A year is a long time in this economy.

Just had my interview.unbelievably quick..not sure if that's a good or bad thing:(
    Dealing with a difficult colleague
What do I know about SGS
    Why should they hire me
€11.78 a hour for 12 months . Some weekends and evenings.
Will know either way next week when the emails for the aptitude tests are sent out...

what aptitude test could you expect for this kind of role?

Is there a difference between an online abilities questionnaire and an aptitude test?

Think they are both the same. I asked if it was competency based but she wouldn't say. I think it will be possibly scenarios or observational based on the role specification....just guessing and hoping I get that far!

Looking like they won't accept my application despite it being sent well within the deadline :(

Do you know for sure that your CV didn't get through?

They may very well have reviewed it

Called them and nothing was in the system whatsoever ! The call staff advised me to send it again in the hope they receive and consider it, but chances are slim she said :(

Well that was awful :( same questions as everyone else said.

I sent in a CV to this job and got back word to say to they got it and wiil get back to me if i'm called for interview, no word back :-(
Good Luck to all with thier interviews.

I dont know how, it just felt awful. But maybe its because she was obviously just scoring me there on what I said, rather than it feeling like an interaction. I came across as unconfident, when im not, i was just afraid of seeming cocky.

Yeah, feels quite disconcerting, there's no feedback like in a face to face interview. Still, at least it was short. Just weeding peeps out. Hoping I get through!

Can anyone who has applied for this position and got an interview let me know what qualifications or type of work experience you have to date?
I am interested in finding this out as despite applying apox a month ago for this job I have yet to hear back from SGS.

You could be in the same boat as myself, sent it off but they haven't received it for some reason, i don't think it was my CV as I have quite a good one, bachelor degree in the IT area, really active with volunteer ambulance service over 5 years experience, quite fit as well as all of the other usual things such as great team worker, great leader etc etc

    Strange

    Thanks for that.
I know that they put the wrong Hr email address on some of the job adverts.
I found the phone number in Galway and rang them to get the correct email address as gmail was unable to send it to the email address given.

Nah not willing to give out that kind of information here.

The phone number for sgs is 091 482809

There fax number is 091 482822 - I would advise you to fax you cv and cover to them also.
Once you fax in your cv please contact them by phone.

They are aware that there is a post up on boards in regards to the Verification Officers.

They are not reading the cv and just send out message to people tell them they have not been successful.
They are unwilling to let people know what qualifications they are looking for and
they are not taking work experience into consideration.

    The phone number .......

I assume you were told this by the team ? I contacted them today and was told by call centre staff to re-email it and essentially cross my fingers.

Bit of a long shot here, but if someone from SGS is reading this can you Private Message me if I am still in with a chance.
