    Hey folks,

I applied for this job and I have a phone interview coming up as the first round of these interviews.

I have never done a phone interview before so I am rather worried.

Has anyone had an interview with this company or has anyone any advice.

    Thanks :)

What county did you apply for? I applied directly to SGS. Got the confirmation email. But heard nothing about an interview or anything. I think they have a page on their website about their Driver and Licensing services. Might be worth reading up on that and the company in general.

Congrats on the interview, did they send you an email or contact you by phone regarding interview? I also applied but haven't heard anything yet.

The email i got said the telephone interviews were being held between 7th - 17th May, so still plenty of time to get an email . Wonder what the wages for this are.

I saw those jobs advertised on indeed.ie.

I wonder will it just be one person doing the phone interview..

I applied for this position for Donegal, got an email yesterday and have a telephone interview on Tuesday morning :0

I just got an email to be invited for phone interview myself :)

Interested in what the interview qs would be like. Their website seems to point towards competency based.

Glassdoor has nothing on this role (which normally they would). For some reason I thought it was inspecting taxis, but it's driving license applications is it?

I have telephone interview on Tuesaday, when I rang today the lady could not tell me a hole lot of what the job involved, does anybody know?? or if its permanent ? Salary?? cheers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 90 ✭✭Jester144

I have a telephone interview on Tuesday also. I asked the lady if she could tell me any more about the telephone interview but she seemed quite hesitant, and then said it will be just a like a first round face to face interview. The telephone interviews I have previously had, have been a series of set questions, and your answered are scored. So it will be interesting to see what happens!

Let us know the kind of question's asked over the phone, i think it would be much appreciated by people ! ;)

I have applied for this job also.
Can any one who does a telephone interview let us know the questions that you were asked.

Can you also let us know the salary they are offering?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,758 ✭✭✭Strongbow10

they don't ask you a whole lot to be honest, I know someone who is in for one of these roles, they ask your area, also a little background on what you have done before but nothing major at all. Don't bother looking at the company site they ask nothing about the company, its just to see what you are like as a person.

The next round is an online abilities questionnaire/test

Its basically a process of elimination I heard.

I sent an email with the CV and job reference and a little bit about myself, i never received any correspondence, i then emailed again a few days later asking if it was received and got what looked liked an automated email back within a few minutes, has anyone else not heard anything back?

there was a deadline I think by which applications had to be made. You should have got an initial email saying they are looking to schedule interviews in the coming weeks.

Then if successful initially, another email should be received inviting you to call a certain number to arrange a telephone interview (Part 1 of the process) which are all held between the 7-17th May.

When this is completed, you will be told that if successful you will be asked to carry out an online abilities test (Part 2). Emails stating progression to stage 2 will be sent out from the 21st May.

Stage 3 will then consist of a face to face interview.

I hope this helps. They seem like they are nice people, I know someone who is in the process and had their telephone interview and the woman was very nice.

The roles commence in September, so some time away yet though.

A year long contract, €11.78 per hour. You would be processing the new plastic driving licences.

So it's only contracted for a year? Might not be worth leaving a job that I have for that :(

after that final email there you would have got an email asking you to set up a telephone interview between the 7th and 17th.

You never know, its possible you may receive an email yet. Friday is the last day for Telephone interviews.

    Best of luck to you

Its a very brief chat, it will last all of 5 mins. Personally, I think they are checking your personality more than anything, the more in depth stuff, company background in detail, knowledge of the area etc.. will be done at face to face interview.

They are mainly checking your phone manner and language skills at this point as a means of whittling down the applicants.

what areas have everyone applied in? (directed at everyone not just yourself)

iv applied in Cork, iv seen in this thread that the positions are contract for a year, does anyone else have any other info on this as the advert that i applied for this position on said there were full time/part time permanent positions??

they will ask you if you are interested in the full time or part time positions. And the area you would like to work

Contract is a year long, 11.78 per hour and may include unsociable working hours such as weekends

i'm not sure to be honest in relation to contract renewals, it may be just a case they need numbers for the initial changeover. Nothing mentioned about possibility of renewal.

that is odd, you should give them a call back and enquire as to why you didnt get the call. Don't let too much time pass, they probably have lots of calls, so don't get lost in the pile
