Christ no, I want to see Lennon's face when we win the top title in Scotland again! ;)

Also, Everton are the closest thing I have to a "second team", that took a hit when Naismith signed for them - Lennon going there would end it for me!

In work now so can't check but had a quick look on oddschecker around midnight last night and 6 bookies had it priced up with Lennon odds on favourite on all 6 including 2 exchange markets which suggest its a little more than bookies manipulating markets unfortunately :(

He has drifted in some markets since yesterday. It doesn't mean jack sh1t. It will be interesting to see what Lenny says if he is quizzed about it by the media, doesn't he hold a press conference every Friday?

"That's all it is, speculation. I've got a great support, group of players and I'm happy here.

"We're already looking at Champions League preparation and bringing in new players."

"You never know what's around the corner but I'm in a stable job here with good backing from the board and a good group of players.

"Of course, it is nice recognition. Roberto Martinez was favourite yesterday and I'm favourite today, it could be someone else tomorrow."

Lennon is happy where he is, some of ye can relax, some of ye can cry in the corner! :pac:

Soundbites Dempsey he is under contract with Celtic and is hardly going to say any different, I hope it pans out exactly like he says there but them quotes mean very little in the bigger scale of things.

And he's on a rolling contract so he could leave with a club paying minimal or no compensation. I still dunno why you are so worried. Midtable mediocrity with Everton or European Competition with Celtic. He's already stated on numerous times that just making up the numbers in the EPL isnt all its cracked up to be. Its very likely that if and when he leaves Celtic (be it now or 5 years time), he'll never have another stab at UCL football. You can be guaranteed that is a high priority for him at the moment.

Like I say, hope you're right. Soon as all this kicked off with Moyes, I was worried for Lennon, and I won't be happy until they appoint someone else. :) I don't think he'd move to a lower league side, but I'd imagine that Everton would be an attractive prospect to any young manager. Whose to know he's not sick to the teeth of the bull**** he has to put up with in Scotland between the SFA, the media and other fans?

Lennon has never let bullies, bigots and fools dictate where he worked before, it would be disappointing and saddening to hear if that was the reason for him leaving Celtic when he does eventually leave the club

Might not be the absolute reason, but an offer from Everton might just be the ideal time to leave all the BS behind.

Anyway, all we can do is wait and see. I'm not as confident about him being around as you are, I'll be delighted if my worries are unfounded, because our new season is going to come up very quickly with this extra round of CL qualifiers to navigate through.

If Lennon stays, I'm sure it'll be down to loyalty to Celtic, rather than Celtic being a more attractive proposition for players and managers than Everton, because they just aren't. Far from it.

Plenty of players, past and present, have chosen Celtic when given a choice between them and a midtable EPL club.

Everton aren't a midtable EPL club though. They're usually top 6/7

    Judge his body language yourselves

He shot down the idea that everyone wants to manage in the EPL. You'd swear its the centre of the universe the way the media carry on at times

I think many will be sad to see him go because we see the potential he has and many think he's in an excellent position to build up his experience and expertise. He has excelled at the club as a player, captain, first team coach, reserve manager, first team manager whilst dealing with death threats, depression and all the other bullshít that comes with being a high profile person in the Glasgow Goldfish Bowl for over a decade. Despite all that, he's not bitter about anything like Roy Keane has become about certain things in his career. He doesnt owe Celtic anything and he'll leave with his head held high despite my belief that to leave now is too soon from a career point of view.

I might have to change my username if he goes:pac:, although I was a fan of John Lennon long before Neil Lennon came to any kind of prominence:D.

What I got from that press conference is that he would take the opportunity to move elsewhere if the right offer came in, but I don't think that it will happen right now. An offer from Everton might look good superficially, but I think they will be heading into a transition period where they could struggle for a couple of seasons and whoever takes over from Moyes could end up with the sack in that scenario.

What I really hope for the future is that there will be changes in the structure of European football and that Celtic will be integral to those changes. Nothing ever stays the same forever, and I reckon there will be changes in the expansion of the Champions League set up or in other formats, it's bound to happen. In the meantime as long as Celtic maintain a regular presence in the current CL set up, then they can access a decent level of revenue stream that gives them a chance to build competitive European standard teams.

Lenny should stick around for a few years and see what happens I reckon. He'll get plenty of offers down the line anyway so long as he keeps Celtic involved in the CL on a regular basis from plenty of places - and not just from England - if he wants to move on at some stage. He hinted in that press conference that he's not obsessed with the EPL.

BTW, he's gone back out to 7to2 2nd favourite for the Everton job with Paddy Powers today. The bookies love these next manager markets where they take money off mug punters who are giving them money based on pure idle speculation.

Didn't go unnoticed here either lol. ;)

Convincing win there, nice to see the players hungry for a cup final spot. Really good first half and some great goals. Enjoyed Wright scoring the own goal for the fourth also. :pac:

It's great to be a CELT!!!!!

    CHAMPION-ESS!!!!! :D:D:D

Haha! Win the SPL, have a dig at a 3rd division team.

    Only show in town.

Ye certainly are a show, glad you finally recognise that.

Now off with ya to roll out the red carpet for the next set of tax dodgers at ibrokes.

No not the only show in town, more CL action next season provided we qualify is a much bigger and far more interesting show.

Anyway a well deserved dig it was. It's when we stop having digs at ye that that's when ye should start worrying. If ye don't get your act together, there's a danger that might happen.

I thought Lennon would stop commenting or talking about Rangers ?

Can't help himself, he truly is one of your own ;)

edit: Seems like this quote was 'forgotten' on here though :p

"I'd rather not talk about that, Rangers are coming back and will be stronger than before"
