But then I thought IV was stunning. I don't pause the game and study every pixel. Playing it live it looked incredible IMO.
I think GTA IV was the best version when it comes to the physics. Coming from San Andreas though I was expecting everything from San Andreas to be dropped into Liberty city. I wasn't disappointed with Liberty city up until the story ended. Then it was obviously Liberty city had nothing to keep you playing. In SA you could spend hours or days messing around away from the story.

Lads bitching about graphics and frame rate would you stop, "I can't see the plastic thing on the end of his shoelaces I'm emailing rockstar immediately" fùck off hahaha the game is gonna be phenomenal, no amount of "jaggies" can change that it's years in the making now lads any gta fan has been dying for a re-vamp of san andreas and we're finally getting it so just stop crying about graphics and be delighted!

Aye, fair enough, but the jaggies.....

In fairness, once you get heavily involved in a GTA game whether that be a mission or random destruction, scrutiny of graphics goes out the window.

I loved GTA IV and thought it looked great, mainly it Felt like a living city, and you could hang around on the street or on a boat and just watch the world around you, and i suspect GTA V will be too.

Can’t wait to try out the trains, and trucks, anyone else notice that in Trevor’s trailer a truck is towing a trailer so there is a good chance we might be able to drive articulated trucks.

It's going to be epic full stop.

I always wanted to be able to 'tag' a vehicle. Every get that little git that rams you and drives off  Be great to 'tag' him and put him at the bottom of the river :D

Then dive down and have a gander

Maybe I need to grow up a bit haha

Definitely something wrong with you. Counselling is the very least you need.
The rest of us, normally adjusted people will stick to riding hookers before caving their skulls in with a baseball bat and then taking our money back. That, or getting to high ground with a sniper rifle and popping the heads off random innocent passers by.

So do we reckon it will actually be released in September or is here still a good possibility of it being pushed back further?

I have found myself playing IV again in anticipation.
I have let my characters retire and end up playing a lot of the minigames in between chases. I even went bowling.

Just a few more months :(

New screens, new info from Edge

    photomok.png
    photo2ix.png
    photolt.png

    • "Time will sometimes pass when you switch, allowing Rockstar to subtly nudge the story forward"
    • The camera is "grainy" when pulling up into the Google Earth style view, during switches.
    • "They'll each stick, broadly speaking, to one area of the map". [When you're not controlling them.]
    • The descent when Franklin drops from the Helicopter, that opens the demo, took 3 minutes.
    • "We're in Red Dead country, then, with the soporific rhythm of hooves on dirt replaced by the whistle of wind through silk, and a new, dynamic score". [The hooves are probably referring to Red Dead, and not confirmation of horses.]
    • The hotel Michael is leaving during the demo is called Von Crastenburg (I couldn't remember if the name has been mentioned before, though the hotel part has, but I included it anyway).
    • The ambient score when Franklin descends has a soft-synth reminiscent of something out of the Drive OST.
    • The view of the land is flatter in the radar/mini-map, reminiscent of a GPS (whatever that means), and three colour meters for health, armour and Special are below it (mentioned before as green, blue and yellow respectively).
    • Michael looks like a tough guy, in his walk, but his sprint shows his age.
    • "80's Soul" heard from one car.
    • Handling is more forgiving, but not "dumbed down".
    • You'll only be able to switch characters, when a menu overlay appears in the bottom corner during missions. A lot of the switches in mission are made automatically. There are also text prompts suggesting character switches.
    • During the demo of the Blitz Party mission, Michael, Trevor and Franklin were donning the hockey mask, skull mask and monkey mask (respectively). [Whereas in Michael's trailer they were wearing gas masks; perhaps a development change, or an idea on the choice we have?]
    • The characters' turning circle is more like Max Payne's, and less like Niko's (so smoother movement).

Let me tell you a story, the other night I was in a nightclub, as usual I ahnowbrowncow was surrounded by beautiful women, I could have made love to any number of them, then this really ugly girl come in. All fat, hairy and ugly and stuff. Like a big fat cow, all walking on 2 legs ya know? But she had the most beautiful eyes I ever saw, it was like opening a big dirty crabby shell and finding a beautiful pearl.

Playing GTA 4 again and one thing that I'm reminded of that I hope they can finally solve is the car spawning issue.

Nothing worse than running from the cops on a highway and it's a ghost town.

That's usually because cops (cars, choppers and npc) take priority in spawning when you have a wanted level. Stay alive long enough in the same area and practically nothing else can spawn.
Being honest the severity of what it was like in gta4 may be taken off but overall it might not be plausible to rectify entirely until next gen.
