You know everyone is going to tell you to do a factory reset now haha

I didn't want to have to do that, but I just did, and now it works again.
Meh, have to re-install all my apps now. So much for OTAs being quick & easy.

    Oh, just fixed it;

Settings > Mobile Data > Network Mode > Switch to GSM/WCDMA (only, no LTE and it started working again :D )

Yeah same here, the factory reset didn't actually work, after another reboot it was back to not working again.

your solution fixed it, though I suspect it's something that'll have to be done after each reboot :(

    Shoddy work HTC!

I haven't had any of these problems running the latest HTC updates on a custom ROM with Vodafone SIM, so it's more likely something Vodafone have done to the update, rather than HTC.

Trying to get this phone is wayyyy to much hardship, their low stock levels excuse is seriously turning me off, if it wasn't for the fact I just sold it I would revert to my iPhone....like how can they not have enough stock of the most wanted phone of the year, surely it would make sense to have more than less....shame on HTC

For all intents and purposes, Android Revolution is a stock rom with a few behind the scenes tweaks.

TrickDroid is much more customised with multiple tweaks and themes that don't come with ARHD.

I guess I'm a bit biased, as am part of the TrickDroid 'team', but you also have to bear in mind that Torxx owns the One, and that's the device he's fully focussed on. Mike (ARHD) doesn't own the One, and has many different devices to maintain, which is why he doesn't put effort into a lot of extras with the ROM.

    Both are solid though.

HTC are struggling to meet demand which doesn't help the carriers.

Just read this over on the S4 forum, could be worth a shot if your looking for it on contract.
Guys just a quick heads up with how meteor (and probably all carriers) sell high demand phones.

I went into meteor on the north side on Saturday to get one of these bad boys and first asked if they have any in stock. The guy said yes they have a few left.

He then proceeded to show me the unlimited deal for 50 Euro a month, and while it is nice i'm not willing to commit to a two year plan.

I said i wanted the 12 Month plan at 35 Euro PM, he still insisted on the more expensive plan but i wouldn't budge. He takes my passport and walks to get the phone only surprise surprise they have none left, he said they must have been sold since the last time he checked.

I left and went home to explain this to my father (Who works for meteor) He said that when any new, must have phone comes in, each shop gets a limited number, those phones are then split between all the employees , so each employee has a chance to meet/increase their quota.

The problem is that the employees hold on to the phones and only sell them to a 'high valued' customer (They get more points for their quota). So the likes of me who wants a 12 month or even a 18 month contract is outta luck for the next few weeks until demand levels off.

I went back an hour later with my father and surprise, they suddenly had more in stock.

TBH if i were in their shoes i'd probably do the same, but if you want the phone on a short contract , tell them you want to get the phone on an expensive plan then once you see the phone , change your mind and go for the smaller plan. That way they cant make up an excuse. If they try to get out of selling it to you , then call them out on it , they are not allowed to hold on to phones for certain customers.

Looking for One for my girlfriend, ideally from Vodafone PAYG. Does it contains any bloatware and is it locked? Thanks.

From experience, it will have bloatware (which I believe you can disable on Jelly Bean anyway), but it won't be locked. I've never known Vodafone to lock their devices.

Cheers Basil3 i'm downloading trickdroid as we speak so i'll flash it later. anything i need to know when moving from one ROM to another custom ROM? I'm new to the HTC side of things - it seemed so much simpler with Samsung haha

No logos or start up screen wallpapers? If only few apps that shouldn't be problem.

Yes, it will have vodafone logo splash screen when you boot the device, at least mine did.

HTC only complicated things recently, although it seems you can now flash boot.img through recovery rather than through fastboot, which is handy.

I would nandroid your ARHD ROM, then just dirty flash TrickDroid over the top. Shouldn't be a problem.

Well I got the 1.29.401.12 software update today.

The main thing I was hoping for was a fix for the location element of accuweather. It was just showing Dublin and not the area in Dublin.

Low and behold the update seems to have solved it!

I am on Meteor if that's of interest.

ordered last Wednesday with Meteor online when they popped back into stock. Said it would be 2 days. No phone by Friday so gave them a quick ring. Said stock as a issue but got them in Friday, would have it Monday or Tuesday at the latest. Hopefully I'll have it tomorrow but I reckon it'll be delayed again :(

Yeah I ordered by phone Thursday, got a call today saying my order was being cancelled due to a "processing issue" and someone was going to call up to confirm a refund. Was told I could go buy one in a shop if I wanted(guessing there aren't any instore).
    No call yet today

    anyone got a decent case?

how durable is the steel back without one

Got my HTC One today and having watched a video on YouTube about the device having gaps I gave the phone a look over.
There is a small gap on the top of the phone between the cream plastic and the metal that goes when you squeeze the phone together.
Then on the bottom of the phone the metal edge is not flush with the plastic you can feel a sharp edge.
I am so annoyed I have not even bothered powering the device on!

Now maybe I am being overly fussy but expect more from a high end device.

Has anyone else had similar issues?

Thats the same as both HTC One's I've had. Check your serial number 1st 6 digits. Both mine have been FA33CW. (btw your not giving out any data which can identify your particular phone by posting the 1st 6 characters only the day and location of manufacturer). Was yours from emobile/metror by any chance?

Looking at this at the moment but I'd prefer to get a 12 month contract like my previous one.

Are all the Meteor HTC One's unlocked?

Mine has a similar gap, I think it just a design flaw, I doubt you will be able to get one without it. I haven't noticed a sharp edge at the bottom either. It doesn't particularly bother me, although its a little disappointing given that HTC aluminum body's are usually very well done.

Sadly it bothers me. Its meant to be a high end device!!

I've got the same, though tbh I wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't been looking for it.

Slightly more concerned about the edge at the bottom - mine has it on either side, but is almost flush near the middle, meaning the lower speaker grille is very slight distorted.
