Geno Smith is going home, he isn't attending the 2nd day of the draft and he also refused interviews. Surely this is the worst thing he could have done... it shows him to be mentally weak. . .

He's changed his mind and is staying now.

Looks like the T'eo doubters were right. :(

Would love him in Tampa, even though MLB isn't a need with Lavonte David having such a great Rookie year.

Margus Hunt, Tank Carradine or Damontre Moore would really help the pass rush on the outside.

Geno Smith or Barkley if Freeman is as inconsistent as he was last year.

Eddie Lacy to help out Doug Martin.

Maybe Jonathan Banks to help out the piss poor CB corps behind Revis.

So much talent available with a lot of teams picking for need rather then BPA it looks like.

Some cracking players still on the board for tonight. A lot of teams will get fantastic value.

Cyprien (better than either Reid or Elam IMO)
Arthur Brown (again better than Ogletree)
    Hunter
    Carradine

    Also
    Damontre Moore
    Jonathon banks
    Zach Ertz
    Teo
    Geno Smith
    Jonathon Hankins
    John Jenkins
    Eddie Lacey
    Jesse Williams
    Kevin Minter
    Margus Hunt
    Loads of receivers

Probably loads more I can't think of!

It is devastating for a QB though. By failing to the 2nd round he will lose millions.

Well ya and the fact that he wasn't drafted in the first round and tim tebow was.

Also it can be hard if your self aware, people having you going within the top 8, a large majority saying you would go in the first and then this happens. You'd be pissed. But hey **** happens it's how you deal with it now is how you ll be remembered.

And could Goddell have done a Brady Quinn and took him off the cameras in the green room ?

So I've been reading around trying to get an idea for where the Jags will go with the first pick tonight, and really I think they are looking to shop it to other teams in order to accumulate more picks.

If they can't do that, I would be shocked if they took Geno. Much more likely is Cyprien or Swearinger as they actually don't have a safety on the roster, or maybe Tank Carradine as the D-Line is so thin also. Then they hope that either Barkley or Nassib fall to them in the 3rd round.

Have to say personally, if we were to go Joeckel, Cyprien, Barkley/Nassib as a 1, 2, 3, I would be over the moon, but if those QB's are gone then we take a CB in the 3rd round and Arizona's Matt Scott in the 4th.

Depends on the need, if your idea is to build offence in this draft then maybe look at the next WR on your draft board and find out whether he has a high enough value to take him at that spot or not.

Possibly a team told Geno he'll be taken tonight if he stays, or else he got bitch-slapped by his agent.

I would guess some sense was talked into him.

Regardless of what happens with the QBs from here on in, its very clear that nobody rates any of them except EJ Manuel.

EJ ****ing Manuel? I mean how the hell could you rate him as a first round pick? They must have been smoking dope or something when they were looking at him.

Screw It I want Manti, just seen him mocked to the Chargers.

Size, Arm Strength, comes off as fairly mature.

Bills have lacked anyone who they feel can really stand tall in the pocket and not **** a brick.

Now why they think they needed him in the 1st when they could of got him later on is a mystery.

Only really looking at all the draft picks now. Gonna watch it all tonight though!

As a Panthers fan i'm delighted. The mock draft result was like some sort of pipe dream, actually getting Star could prove to be a pivotel point in the Panthers future. It was the best bargain of the draft so far anyway. Looking forward to tonight. Hoping Barkley goes somewhere he can get a chance to prove his doubters wrong.
Geno Smith and Lacy could get very lonely tonight in that room!!

I don't know if this has been pointed out earlier but Ziggy Ansah was rocking 3-D glasses you get at the cinema to the draft lol

Anyone know how to get the free Game Pass? I've had a look on the NFLUK site, but all it's got is the details of the pay site, which of course I don't want!

As far as I'm concerned they already have a starter in Kevin Kolb. All they need to do is make sure he gets protected. They lost Andy Le Vitre in FA and they had the chance to replace him with Pugh or Long after the trade. It would have made much more sense imo.

Looks like no QBs in first two picks either!

Oh yeah of course. It's pointless getting Kolb then telling him to go out and get abused yet again...

Maybe they just someone who they think will take those big hits better then Kolb? I don't know still seems odd.

E.J. Manuel said his green room hotline phone rang at pick 3. He got excited, then the voice asked if they could talk to Dion Jordan.

This is what he said to Dan Patrick.
“When [Oregon DE] Dion Jordan got selected [No. 3 by the Dolphins], someone called my hotline phone,” Manuel explained to Dan Patrick on Friday. “Obviously I got excited because I heard it ring. … Someone was like, ‘Congratulations buddy’ and I’m like, ‘Thanks, I appreciate it. Who is this?’ And he was like, ‘Uh, is this Dion?’ and I said, ‘No sir.’ … And he hung up.”

There are only 30 picks this round. Browns of course used one in the supplemental draft, but why is there another missing pick?
