Celtic manager Neil Lennon will serve a three-match touchline suspension after being found guilty of misconduct at a Scottish FA tribunal.

Yer not guilty but here's a ban anyways!!

Unreal pettiness from the SFA because he correctly criticized an incompetent referee.

I disagree with this rule its stupid and the SFA have opened a can of worms.

But he was found guilty and that invoked the suspended ban. They decided that because it was a three game ban that no further ban would be added.

Interesting to note that they changed the phrasing of the charge against Lennon aswell.
“Clearly we are extremely surprised and disappointed.

“Fundamentally the particular disciplinary system in place is absurd — a system where such a case can be brought on the strength of two ‘complaints’ from people totally unconnected to the match, while a fourth official overseeing the technical area makes no mention of any incident to the SFA.

“Despite even supportive comments from numerous individuals including Jim Goodwin himself, this judgement has been made, something which we find quite astonishing.

“It’s clear that this decision will have huge repercussions for the game in Scotland and we are sure Hampden will be a very busy place now every Monday morning.”

Cant wait for Lennon's press conference :pac:

NL:Why all of a sudden are we sanitising the game,if that's the case every player will be booked/sent off,we'll be playing 5-aside football.

    Celtic Football Club‏@celticfc2m
NL: It's so pendantic, so petty. Anytime you see a manger swearing is he going to be brought up in front of them now? (LB)

    Celtic Football Club‏@celticfc2m
NL: It's an incentive, passionate reaction, the same way when you score a goal you shout "ya beauty!" (LB)

NL: I've no idea if I was a test case, ask the SFA, I don't know why they picked me. (L

    Celtic Football Club‏@celticfc1m
NL: I'll sit my three-match ban but what's coming for the SFA? It's a storm comin

    Celtic Football Club‏@celticfc1m
NL: If I hear a manager swearing in the technical area I will phone the SFA on Monday and complain about them. (LB)

NL: Why are they bringing the case up on two complaints, if it was one hundred or two hundred I'd understand. (LB)

NL: We haven't won it in front of our fans for a long time, it would be lovely to win it on Sunday. (LB)

    Celtic Football Club‏@celticfc1m
NL: These are great days for us after a long, tough road. I'm really pleased we won the semi final, it was huge for the momentum. (LB

    Celtic Football Club‏@celticfc1m
NL: If we're crowned champions tonight I still want the players to go out, win the game and entertain the crowd. (LB)

NL: We've made plans for players to get a holiday, we'll stagger that over the next few weeks and we'll get them back for the cup final.(LB)

    Celtic Football Club‏@celticfc1m
NL:These guys are so fit a week won't affect them.Emilio's saying he doesn't want a hol but he needs it the most, he's playing through June.

NL: Kayal and Wanyama will get 10 days - two weeks but they'll be back for the cup final so they're still a part of it all. (LB)

NL on Stokes: We will be offering Anthony a new contract. (LB)

Nice 1 and about time too. With Hooper likely to leave Lennon should make Stokes his number 1 choice striker for the rest of this season. Stokes has a great future as a Celtic striker once he steers clear of that RIRA sh1te off the pitch and continues to improve his game.

Delighted to hear that Stokes will be offered a new contract, a free scoring talented striker who wants to play for Celtic, would have been madness to let him leave.

Just lookin at Lenny's press conference there. Weird carry on from the SFA. It appears that they are doing everything possible to dampen Celtic's title celebration, first by having Motherwell play tonight away to Tannadice ahead of Celtic's game tomorrow and then the 3 match ban for Lennon. Seemingly Lennon will have to wait 15 minutes before he can go on the pitch to join the celebrations, I guess that will be an event in itself, probably will be the biggest cheer of the day.

The Quadrofenians should write a song about it.

Motherwell's win means we can win the title at home now tomorrow with a point. I hope Lenny goes out onto the pitch straight away and shoves the SFA's 15 mins up their hole. (Assuming we get the point or three of course)!

Good, sets it up for great day out tomorrow.

Would you say the other teams in the league have improved a bit with opportunities that have arisen due to The The Rangers not being around? You'd imagine that some of them would start to get closer to Celtic over a couple of years. Back in the 80's the SPL had a good few seasons when Dundee Utd and Aberdeen were competitive and handy in Europe as well.

Realistically, I think it'll be the 2 Glasgow teams challenging again within 5 years, this time with Celtic having the edge.

I hope Lennon does something that mocks the punishment, I hope he does something that the SFA cant do anything about but I wouldnt have a go at him if he did just walk out onto the field to celebrate the win because the SFA are acting the cnut and are going down a road they'll regret

Regarding the Lennon ban, I'm interested in what The Rangers' fans think of it - presumably you think any claims of an agenda against Celtic are total paranoia so I'm wondering how you'd explain him literally being the only manager to be cited for this. Like Lennon said it's an absolute embarrassment for the SFA, throwing their cards on the table for all to see and for such a negligible effect.

Yet other managers, players and coaches havent been pulled up on cursing during matches. The rule may have been there for a while but how its been enforced is farcical

Someone in the SFA trying to wind up Lenny is all, cos he annoyed them a couple of years back, bunch of idiots they are. I'm sure Lennon knows that and doesn't care so long as he is winning trophies. It's no wonder Scottish football is in such a state and they can't reform their set up.

Stokes goal disallowed for dubious offside.

The linesman wasnt in line and its hard to see even with video replay, the benefit of the doubt should go to the attacking team.
