    I'm not 'suspicious'.

I'm only going on what i've seen here.

And i've absolutely no reason to think that it's clear cut 'these are the guys' beyond they're being some video evidence/photo-images of them released and the suggestion that they're the main suspects.

The FBI would not state to the national and international media that these were suspects if they weren't damn sure.

They have something like 3TB+ of media from Monday, they have a hell of a lot more footage than what we see.

Do you honestly think the FBI would

    1) Call them suspects

    2) Release footage of their faces

    3) Warn people not to appraoch them as they are most likely armed and dangerous

if they didn't have 100% hard evidence they were the bombers? Believe it or not, we don't have a divine right to know every last detail of a police operation, but its as clear as day anyway.

i think they've enough to be getting on with this week, besides grandiose wild goose chases.
    LOL:D

Cop on Fox News is making some interesting points.

They never asked them to turn themselves in. He said that's what's done during a press conference, it may only work 1% of the time but it's standard procedure. Appeal to their guilt or fear. The fact that they didn't may suggest they're fundamentalists (not necessarily religious) and so there's 0 chance of them turning themselves in.

Also, he said (and I don't necessarily agree, but then again I'm not a cop) it seems unlikely they've left Boston, or at least not by public transport. All CCTV of airports, train stations and bus stations would've been pumped straight to the feds. They would've gone through that with software and/or by manpower to identify them. The fact that they're now asking the public means they haven't popped up in any of those places.

It does make sense. The first thing the Feds would've done is get footage of the explosions and work backwards from there. If they have footage of Suspect 2 planting the bomb they probably found him within a matter of hours after the explosion (depending on how soon they got that specific footage, if it's CCTV they would've gotten it almost immediately). Then they would've spent the last few days running through various government databases as well as CCTV from public transport depots and sent his image around to police and security at those areas.

At the end of the day publishing images that don't provide angles of his face do absolutely nothing to help identify him.

They're not looking to reassure people he actually is the bomber. Their goal right now, and their only goal right now, is to identify him.

If people do recognise them but haven't already picked up the phone then somebody else will.

So the evidence, released to public, so far, is that they've footage of two guys with back-packs on video and have photo-images who they say are the main suspects and that they have footage/evidence of them leaving a bag/bomb at the site of the second bombing that they haven't released.

And there's some 'evidence' of a guy who went missing from a college who may kind of look like one of the photo's released; don't know if that's just an internet sleuting 'connection' or if the FBI have definitely fingered him as a main supsect.

They may well have got them; i'm just going on the evidence and not jumping to conclusions.

    It's purely internet sleuthing.

The FBI and other agencies of state, some pretty close to home you might remember, have been responsible for putting people in jail for years who were later proved to be innocent; let alone just 'state that they're suspects'.

I'm not saying they shouldn't be suspects or that they aren't the perpetrators.
I'm just going on the evidence presented so far.

That could well be the same guy seen in the photo.

And the evidence released to public, so far, is that he, or someone who looks like him in a cctv shot, was pictured in Boston on the day of the marathon wearing a back-pack.

Now that's something more like evidence.

Is that from the internet or was it released by the authorities?

Not definitive proof, of course, but..

What do you mean 'good enough'?

    I simply wasn't pre-suppossing anything.

I hadn't seen that when i wrote what you're replying too.

Is it 'good enough' for me?
    That's irrelevant.

    Is it definitive proof?
    No, as it happens.

The worst thing is if its Sunil Tripathi, is that he is really good at disappearing...nobody has been able to find him since he has gone missing.

Looking closely at the picture, though, something's amiss.

That's certainly seems to be the guy in the video evidence/photo images released; which isn't actual stone-cold evidence, by the way, because someone could just look at images of someone close to the scene and then go back and find video footage of them from earlier in the day walking down the street and finger them as the main suspects.

But my point is that this seems to be photo-shopped image; presumably from the internet.

That bag clearly isn't in front of those girls legs, in which case it couldn't actually be definitely linked to the guy with the white cap and it could, in no way, be entirely visible through their legs.

The bag part of this, at least, is a crude photo-shop.

Right after he went missing, explosives were found near Brown University and destroyed in a controlled detonation. No one had been found behind it.

The guy who lost his legs, helps the FBI id one of the bombers:

    http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-04-19/boston-bombing-victim-in-iconic-photo-helped-identify-attackers.html
Just before 3 p.m. on April 15, Bauman was waiting among the crowd for his girlfriend to cross the finish line at the Boston Marathon. A man wearing a cap, sunglasses and a black jacket over a hooded sweatshirt looked at Jeff, 27, and dropped a bag at his feet, his brother, Chris Bauman, said in an interview.

Two and a half minutes later, the bag exploded, tearing Jeff’s legs apart.

    So fcuked up
