If you do it through online banking it's very quick. Usually delivered within 5 working days of ordering.

The price is ridiculous on that tbh. A quad core AMD, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD and no mention what kind of graphics card it is. Absolutely crazy and completely agree that this will be a complete failure.

    Radeon 7000-series GPU iv read

Looks like I have to RMA my Sapphire HD7870 OC GHZ Edition - I have the dreaded black screen issues. So disappointing cause I like Sapphire's cards. Anyone else have the same problems?

Oh, the Sapphire RMA address is in Czech Republic. I have to pay for postage to them, which is €30 registered post. I'm RMAing with Sapphire themselves to make sure the RMA card has the fix in it and while its free to RMA to Amazon they could send me back one from the defective batch which is a hassle. Am I crazy to pay the 30?

EDIT: Scratch all that logged into Amazon "Return Window expired on 4 Nov 2012. " It seems I cant return to Amazon at all. Annoying.

Super flower amazon 450W out of stock just as im about to order this week :( anyone know how long it usually takes to come back into stock?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,181 ✭✭✭Serephucus

Anywhere from a few minutes to a day or two, usually. Stock fluctuates like crazy on HWVS.

I have two machines, one's an i5 and 7770 crossfire, the other's a G620 and a 7750. The only reason I have a 2nd machine is for odd games of Company of Heroes LAN with a friend - and the fact that I like just constantly upgrading something - but now part of me's like just sell that waste of space 2nd machine and your 7770's, use the cash to buy dual 7870's....

I've been upgrading my pc over the last few weeks and have basically amassed enough parts to build a second gaming pc minus a cpu,ram and a dvd drive.Would it be worth my while buying these parts and then selling it on as a gaming pc or should I just sell the parts individually?

Get this instead. It's a better psu anyway.

Sell them individually on adverts. I've sold a load of stuff there recently. It's not much hassle having the stuff collected or posting.

Is it better yeah? Would it be quieter?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

    It's has 80+ Silver rating compared to 80+ bronze, more sata connectivity and 2 x 8 pin gpu connections vs 1 x 6 and 1 x 8 pin.

    It's also pretty quiet.

Having to RMA the K90 this week :( Also cant find a second 680 Lightning (theres one seller with 10+ on ebay but I dunno). All I'm short of doing is turning into Fry from Futurama and shouting at people to take my money :o

So, new job incoming and I will be in a much better position, financially speaking.

So ArmA3 is pushing my GTX570 to it's limit. Should I get a second or just get a new single card?

It'll be, maybe 6 months or so until I am thinking of buying. I heard there are no major card announcements this side of winter, right?

Once I do upgrade, maybe a bit of watercooling is in order? Are there any H100 style solutions that loop GPU and CPU?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,181 ✭✭✭Serephucus

I'd say hold off as long as you can, then pick up an EVGA-something. Hopefully by then we'll have rumours of next gen. card releases, and you'll be able to step-up to one of them.

As regards H100esque GPU things, not really. There's Swiftech's H220, but that's only different from a custom kit in that it comes assembled and filled, which you'd have to undo to add a GPU block in anyway.

It'll be at least Q4 (so September or so) of this year before we hear any more about new cards. I'd go for a newer single card over two older ones in SLi anyway, maybe something like a 7950.

And there isn't an enclosed loop that will do both the CPU and GPU. Some cards have versions with a setup like the H80 (single 120mm Rad to cool the GPU) but they are usually only on the highest end cards and carry a fairly hefty premium. Your best bet is to invest in a fully custom loop if your thinking of putting your CPU and GPU under water

Was it the B75 mobile you were getting? Just change to the standard atx version. It's 13 more though but has extra features.

You can just order it. If something isn't in stock, they'll hold the rest of it until that part shows up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,513 ✭✭✭Damo 2k9

I might do that BB, cheers. How long will it take for the part to come back in tho, thats what im wondering.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

Ah it was a microatx case you were using. Forget that then. The standard atx won't fit in there.

Restock times are pretty random, can be days/weeks.

When are the next gen of graphics cards and Intel CPU's meant to be out anyway?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,181 ✭✭✭Serephucus

June for Intel (Haswell), and nothing concrete on GPUs. At the very earliest, I'd guess late Q3.
