Yes, its a design defect with the card - due to manufactures using poor capacitors on the PCB. Its not sapphire specific according to the following article and new batches should be OK! :)

Oh its not Sapphire Specific? Great news. I can continue to buy their cards :)

Dead Space 4 looks like it might be cancelled. Pretty disappointing seen as I loved the first two installments. Haven't gotten around to the third but it looked good, albeit less scary. Following the poor sales of the third installment Dead Space 4 looks like it's going to be canned. EA did respond saying "While we have not announced sales for Dead Space 3, we are proud of the game and the franchise remains an important IP to EA." Hope it doesn't get cancelled I hate playing a series only to not be able to finish it.

It wont be canceled but it will be shelved and re-evaluated as to why it hasnt sold as well as the wanted and why it cost them so much money. Visceral will be closed if they haven't already

and its not a good time to be planning sequels to mid-tier sales games as Interest in the old gen is dwindling and the next gen wont have the install base so most devs are either developing games for their main ips or taking a calculated risk in developing new ips for next gen consoles as next gen releases are a time when competition is low games wise

Dead space doesn't fit either of those categories so DS4 is prob 2-3 years away

Ah ok cool. I just don't really trust EA at all.

Niether do i but they usually milk a franchise until its dry (CnC, Medal of Honor) before they cancel a franchise

DS has still a bit left before EA is done with it

Just for anyone who might be interested. I was playing the Arma 3 alpha earlier. Managed to get a steady 10 fps with a stock I5 3570k on 1080p. Granted everything was at it's lowest.

The price is ridiculous on that tbh. A quad core AMD, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD and no mention what kind of graphics card it is. Absolutely crazy and completely agree that this will be a complete failure.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 10,093 Mod ✭✭✭✭marco_polo

It about the same specs and price as Xi3 X7A offering, so I'd say the price is pretty accurate. No chance anybody will buy this.

Anyone here have an ASUS DirectCU 7770? Do they come with a DisplayPort to DVI adapter, or am I being a bit too optimistic?

Agree. Just one thing to remember: "its an unofficial Steam box". My guess they want to coast on steam success, free marketing for them.
That price is just idiotic, if i would be valve i would pull them for using steambox name on it. It is doing more harm then help. The average Joe will just go ( again ) PC gaming is overpriced!

It is just the press that are putting the steambox name on it.
Why would valve pull them on a project that valved have backed 0_o
