Nice tee on Teefury today, seeing as the word "Triforce" is in the previous post!

Apparently the Triforce Arcade version of F-Zero AX has been found tucked away on the gamecube disc of GX!!!
It can be unlocked using action replay or similar to enter a few codes. Bit late now but ill give it a go tomorrow, never got
    to play/see this version.

That is amazing. How could something so big remain hidden on such a well known title for so long?

/runs off to pick up a GC action replay

That is a weird bit of news. Apparently they have Mario Kart GP running on the Wii as well now.

Atlus is reprinting Devil Summoner 1 and 2 in the US. Pick them up before they are worth their weight in gold on ebay.

I had heard about that alright... I must give that a go when I get home.

Have the two Mario Kart GP titles running on my wii atm, the first one works great but the second one is pretty choppy and not really playable tbh. Oh also worth noting that you'll completly lose gamecube compatibility on the wii with the triforce enabler, you'll have to write the original file to get it back after you've finished.

Ahh I might leave it alone then in that case. I don't play Gamecube games on it much anymore but I don't want to end up bricking yet another console.

Picked up the new Tomb Raider yesterday. It's super good!

Seems only the marketing was horribly misogynistic.

no fear of bricking the wii, just a wad installion, i leave the two on the sdcard and switch between them, worst that could happen would be loosing gamecube support (if ya had it orignally because i beleive its been removed on later wii's)

Is it just me or has misogyny become the hot word of the moment? It seems I can't open a webpage lately without seeing it plastered somewhere. Even my girlfriend keeps using it. It's driving me mad!

Maybe if I start throwing misandry around more it'll catch on :pac:

In the case of Tomb Raider's 'rapey' marketing I reckon it's use is justified.

I'd take misogyny over 'Going forward' any day of the week.

We need to shift the paradigm of the word 'misogyny'.

So far it actually plays like an awesome video game version of Lost, with a little bit of The Descent thrown in.

Which is odd, because didn't one of the ladies in The Dedcent look into the cave and say "Hang on! I'm an English teacher, not Lara Corft!" or somthing to that effect.

Have to say I quite liked The Descent!

I've always been meaning to re-watch it. I've only ever seen it once, but I was in a mate's house, and had a few beers in me at the time so I don't remember a whole lot of it.

They got a re-edited happy ending in the US, and the unfortunately the sequel was based on that ending.

    woohoo!
alpha footage of resurrected successor of the best rpg on the SNES (and pretty decent Pen and Paper rpg too).

It actually has a reworked version of the snes music , and feck! actually has your character (Armitage) as an npc
Only thing that would make it better would be a "Tir Na Nog" DLC (Orc vs Elf gunfights in Stephens green ;))

I saw The Descent in the cinema on my own, as in I was literally the only person in the screen,as it was a midweek daytime showing. that was kinda cool, really claustrophobic.

I found the film to be incredibly unpleasant and won't be watching it again. That said, I enjoyed The Mist which, with THAT ending, I'd even bleaker.

Loved the Mist, im not up on Stephen kings books, but is it related to the dark tower series in some way? wasnt he painting the gunslinger at the start?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 33,733 ✭✭✭✭Myrddin

I loved Half Life The Mist too, very very bleak ending

that was thrown in as a nod to King, those movie posters at the beginning are by Drew Struzan, who's done pretty much every great movie poster there is:

    https://www.google.ie/search?q=drew+struzan&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=RQ86UcKoGM-v7Ab0oIDICw&biw=1266&bih=721&sei=SQ86UfGAPZKQ7Aae94C4Cw

He did the initial teaser for The Mist but they didn't use it, pity cos it was cool:

The ending was changed, much more upbeat in the original story.
The mist itself, was as a result of "Project Arrowhead" where an american military project opens up a thinny into our world, resulting in a path into Todash Space and releasing the various beasties therein contained.
The Mist universe has not been formally connnected though, not in the same way a lot of Kings other fiction has been linked together with Rolands quest for The Dark Tower.
But the connection is implicit in the form of creatures spilling into our universe.
Certainly, a movie about Project Arrowhead would be welcome, and quite different from Half Life imho, a lot more horrific for starters, no one remember what happens to Norm, the bag packer?

I'm in the know on this one as I'm in the middle of reading The Dark Tower at the moment, and very very good it is too.

Always hate the way in RPGs where each subsequent inn is more expensive than the last. It's like there's a secret network of innkeepers intent on fleecing protagonists and their parties! I've been known to stubbornly travel to another continent to save a couple of Gil!

Lucky the shops always have better weapons though!
