Why are the Guards getting a bashing on here? FFS they arrested 5 people who were more than likely armed, not long after the incident.

Well done Gardai. Credit where credits due.

They were armed, a handgun was found in the car they were travelling in.

laughable the opinions being expressed here.....you'd swear that the gardai do surveillance by standing beside the people they are watching.

The sooner people stop believing the nonsense the herald and Sunday world print the better.

Is there a day that doesn't go by and the dissident who was shot last years head isn't on the front. They link him to this murder yet hes dead six months.

But you will always have sheep who will believe anything they read.

Keep them in the dark and feed them ****e,I think is the saying.

In all seriousness is there any proper evidence as opposed to hearsay such as convictions of people in the 32 csm for drug offenses that the RIRA are involved in the drugs trade- I know about the volunteer of theirs who they killed for growing some cannibis plants but besides that?

You're not allowed ask that question around here.

Just heard that its alleged he was a tout. He walked away from some heavy charges a while ago and something didn't add up.

Well its unlikely to have been over what to order.

The shower lifted are linked with the Ryan faction, who have clashed with the rest of them before. Secondly, its a classic bit of defamation to allege somebody is a tout when they've been killed.

So why would Ryan gang target him for not coughing up money,if their meant to be guilty of this?its all bs,how the cork examiner or the herald would know half of what's going on is a mystery.

During the Troubles people accused the Provos of being involved with drugs but only one member of the Provo movement during that time was arrested for drug crimes and that involved cannibis for personal use.

Awhile back I had a debate with someone about punishment beatings/shootings (I was opposing them) and they showed how drug crimes and addictions were considerably lower in Nat/Rep as opposed to Loyalist/Unionist areas according to official statistics and how this was probably down to Anti-GFA armed Republicans. A lot of support and sympathy from the armed groups comes from the fact that they deal with anti-social activities.

Not sure if its connected, to this murder or the cabra murder, but there's been another shooting in Dublin.

There is a lot of rubbish being spoken on here about the victim being a scumbag or a thug when nobody actually knows the man or can name one thing he was convicted of. A google search of his name yesterday told me only that he had donated a defibrillator to his local running club yet the same search today informs me that he was some kind of monster. What a load of crap, every journalist who googled his name yesterday read that same story yet I didn't see it in any of the newspapers.

It's easy to call someone a thug or a scumbag when they are dead. If he was such a scumbag how come we haven't been reading about him in the rags over the last few years? Where are all his criminal convictions?

Well obviously experts such as yourself have it all tied down. I'm just a clueless observer.

He did get off a charge for terrorism offenses on a technicality only last year.

as well as being due up in court next week on charges of being a member of an illegal organisation......

Well when the Supreme Court ruled a ton of Offences Against the State search warrants as unconstitutional a lot of terrorism convictions were overturned.

Not really. It was just the Supreme Court flexing its muscle.

Thinly veiled post supporting shooting people in the kneecaps in kangaroo courts....

Regarding that shooting in Gormanstown. Would it be a possibility that both the murder itself and the quick arrest of all involved was actually part of the plan? As in the So called IRA ordered the guy to be shot at a place so open and obvious that they also planned on the gang being arrested? so it wasn't just one guy taken out it was at least 5?

You say that as if there was an alternative. i cant speak for other areas but i know crime and anti social behaviour in south armagh rocketed following the call for IRA members to down arms. sadly, there was just no other way to deal with some thugs
