Not games related but a new film coming from the director of Akira (think it's the director):

It's actually an omnibus of 4 shorts by him.

Minter madness. I used to play this on the ST, worth a play if you've never played them. Slightly bizzare but very enjoyable.

It was alright... but given Otomo, ten years of production and a staggering budget for an anime production it should have been so much more than alright. Even its steampunk setting felt overfamiliar and uninspired - again a disappointment from the director of one of the most ambitious, distinctive animated films of all time.

Granted its been years since I watched it, certainly before I was better versed in anime, but it all just felt rather hollow underneath its flashy exterior.

And I vaguely recall the main female character not exactly being the charming rascal she was meant to be...

Spot on really. Given the sum of its parts, it should have been much better. I remember being very excited about a new Otomo release at the time and feeling extremely underwhelmed.

This new releases looks interesting. First I've heard of it.

Not to mention that, while the character was played by Anna Paquin, she was actually playing a boy, James Steam.... but like you said, it's been a while since you watched it!

Tbh, one of my main attractions to it is my love of counter-factual history, and in this case it's a steam-punk adventure with all sorts of great imagination at play, reminding me of the likes of Stephen Baxters book, AntiIce, for example.

Steamboy is visually one of my all time favourites. I remember everyone saying how disappointed with it but I loved it. Story was a bit weak but its fecking lovely to look at. I had to do an essay on the great exhibition of 1851 in college so I got a kick out of seeing the crystal palace in it and stuff too I suppose.

Anywhere in Ireland to get VGA grading done ?
I want to get my CDi valued and graded before its hermetically sealed and preserved for future generations. Obviously its too rare and valuable to be shipping to the US.

You can ship it to me. I'll plop it a plastic slab. Granted, I'll probably just replace the contents with a brick, and laugh that you'll never know.

Playing through donkey kong country returns at the moment, at world 6 and my impressions are mixed on it. I was never a fan of the other country games and it feels retro studio just played it safe.

Boss battles are some of the worst i played from a nintendo game and shaken the wii mote to pound the ground and roll over is annoying.

    7.5/10 so far

I feel partially to blame but there is far too much CDi talk here, knock it off! The banhammer is thirsty and eager to swing!

Put the Pi in a see through case , haven't mounted it on the TV or put it in any ikea type furniture just yet. I think Chameleon needs a bit more work.
Maybe it's me, need to get a controller working but it is still heavily reliant on a keyboard.

Apparently the Triforce Arcade version of F-Zero AX has been found tucked away on the gamecube disc of GX!!!
It can be unlocked using action replay or similar to enter a few codes. Bit late now but ill give it a go tomorrow, never got
    to play/see this version.
