    I can't make you understand. It's so subjective. I guess you could look up 'black humour' if you like. It won't make you find it any more funny, nor indeed make me see it as any less funny.

    Black/Dark/Gallows humour has been in existence for a very long time. Like any brand of humour, some love it some don't get it.

    Why would a plumber call round to her gaff unless something needed fixing and she had in fact called a plumber to ask him to come and fix it. Or has the recession got so bad that plumbers just knock on doors and hope that something is broken.

    Great thread this. I'm friends with one guy who is 27 unemployed and an absolute waste of space, his FB updates would be funny if he wasn't so serious. Here are a sample of his musings.

    Sometimes I doubt myself or have a bad day, then I read absolute gold like this and realise it could all be worse.

    Him having two kids mentioned at the end of your post was like a plot twist. Only the Internet could cause anonymous hatred towards someone I don't know or hopefully will never meet.

    My friend's funeral arrangements were shared on Facebook. It's common these days. Why would you ring? Why on earth would you think a message about a funeral would be anything but genuine? I don't know anyone who would joke about that, even those with a really dark sense of humour. It's not dark humour, it's just inane and I'd be worried about the state of mind of anyone who did something like this as a 'joke'.
