    Because you end up have a posting history you realy don't want.

    A search of work forum posts and accomadation forum posts and it's clear to all what your job is and where you live.
    If you chipped in with advice in State Benefits forum then you may well have mentioned your time on the dole.
    Stuff like that.
    And if you post a bit in personal issues forum well you can't search through boards but you'd get the threads in google.

    I've gone through 4 usernames since 2004, since before it was possible to close an account
    It's certainly not attention seeking, just wiping the slate clean and go again

    Fair play to everyone who has managed to remember all these posters.

    Only a few have stuck in my memory.

    I find it works best if I concentrate on the post, not the poster.

    Being trans, I opened a new account so I could get a fresh start and not be associated with a persona I had built up previously.
