EFLC was a one off, don't expect that again. I reckon they are cramming as much as possible into V to avoid needing DLC afterwards so they can focus on VI and the new technology involved.

On the contrary, I predict EFLC style DLC is the way forward with Rockstar. They didn't spend sixty million years putting GTA V together so they could get to work on another city for the year after.

They'll milk it dry, no question about it. Three lead characters? Each with their own back story to tell? Or lead 'bosses' or enemies? There's no doubt in my mind that there'll be at least three DLC packs for the game (and perhaps even a 4th one that combines all the extra vehicles, etc. from each individual pack into one single game).

I predict we'll be knees deep in DLC for another 2 years at the very least.

For a console that will soon be on its way out?

Heavily bought at the lows as shown by the massive spike in the volume at the bottom of the chart, wouldn't be too worried about it sticking around at that price for too long.

It's a really small shot of a 2min time frame, it's an exaggerated move, looks a lot worse than it actually is.

Hypothetically, would it be a good idea to buy some shares now and sell them off come September?

Of course. Six years is a long time.

Besides, people don't just throw their PS3 in the bin when the PS4 hits shelves. Look how long the PS2 lingered around for (and the PS3 was backward compatible, I believe?).

With no backward compatibility on the PS4 (apparently, though I doubt that to be true)I'd imagine the PS3 will still be in the vast majority of PS4 owners homes for up to two years after the PS4 releases.

Despite that, though, I do reckon V will get brought on on PS4 aswell, though (possibly in an 'episodes from' style, with DLC included as-bought).

I was thinking the same, buy now and sell around the release date or shortly after. Easy money if you can afford to buy enough in the first place.

If it gets re-released on PS4 then I can see something, but if it's only for PS3, I doubt they will waste their time.

Not really. The shares would now be priced with the assumption that the game will be released in September and will be a massive hit.

Unless the game exceeds its high expectations, don't expect much of a rise

Look at it another way. If you had shares in the company, would you sell them right now after they spent millions developing a game before they've received any money for it?

Anyway, something that just occurred to me last night. Assuming that GTAV is not released on next gen consoles, will that mean we don't get DLC similar to EFLC? I mean, how likely are they to keep supporting a last gen game as opposed to just starting on GTAVI and giving V just some cosmetic DLC (multiplayer stuff, extra side missions, yadda yadda)?

Rockstar always give solid DLC. I would imagine they are developing the DLC in tandem with the main game, it wont simply be an afterthought

Well regardless of whether they choose to go with a PS4 re-release, I still see "stories"-style DLC for it.

To look at it another way: would you choose to not buy GTA DLC just because it was on PS3 (rather than PS4)?

I definetly would and hope we get it. I'm simply looking from Rockstar's side. Would they really waste the time and energy when they could be putting it into the next game which will need to be built from scratch again?

    WHAT THE ACTUAL FÙCK????

Go offline for a few days and come back to a delayed GTAV.... Well ain't that a kick in the happy sack.
If it results in a better, more complete game, then I suppose it's definitely for the best... But still, OUCH!

September is a long wait, but if its going to make it a better game then I suppose its not too bad.

    Haha! We got you!

It's coming out on May 5th. September thing was something well did as a joke knowing you'd be offline. Haha.. Ah, the look on your face! Priceless! :D

    But seriously... :p

I must pick up a headset and start blowing people's faces into the side of trees online in IV. Apparently they're re-doing the multiplayer in V. Will be interesting to see what they've come up with. Can't really think of any ways to improve/change it, myself.

Few leaf's outta Red Dead multiplayer would be good .

Easy of jumping between free roam lobbies

Able to do mini gang shot out things in free roam (so rob a bank or something in V ) .

Bah I wished I hadn't opened up the GTA forum and saw the thread title :(

One good thing about the lack of advertisement etc for this game is it's quite easy to forget about it for a months (or until closer to release date). If they were releasing more trailer or actual gameplay videos and we saw what a fantastic game they are making these next few months would dragggggg.

I don't want to seem like a selfish bollocks, but I'm actually delighted it got delayed until September. :p I'm in Hong Kong without my beloved PS3, and I won't be home until June, and I promised myself I'd finish Dishonored, Hitman Absolution and Far Cry 3 over the summer, which I didn't get the chance to, then replay Skyrim over the summer. And of course I don't want anyone to be enjoying GTA V when I can't! :)

But, having said that, that has the potential to screw up my 1st semester assessments next term... Oh well, a risk I'm willing to take.

I thought Playstations and iPhones grew on trees in that part of the world? Just get some PS3 seed from the shop.

Pfft... I started modding this place in 2010. GTAV was but a dream in the distance back then and everyone had moved on from the joys of TBOGT.

This? This is nothing. I laugh at this puny silence!

    HA!

...apart from two brilliant trailers, loads of screenshots, loads of information, main characters names and some info about them, a release date and confirmation that it is actually happening...

Remember, this was back in 2010. Red Dead Redemption was the GTA game on everyone's minds, not GTAV

So... Anyone wondering what Rockstar are going to do to work around PS4 release at the end of the year?

Will they re-release on PS4 a few months after initial PS3/360 release?
Will they delay release altogether until PS4 (and possibly new Xbox) launch?
Will they release on PS3/360 and ignore new console(s)?
Will they delay PlayStation version release till PS4 (if no new Xbox)?

I'd like to see them release in September for PS3 and Xbox and offer a free/ discounted PS4/720 version for those buying new console, doubt it'll happen though. Presumably Rockstar already knew/knows PS4 and 720 release dates so it'll be interesting to see how they do it.

At least Watch Dogs can keep us entertained. I was watching the new gameplay video thinking "this could be better than GTA if done correctly".

I'll be playing GTA:VI in Heaven while all you suckers are playing V!

Well actually, I'll mostly likely be playing GTA London in Hell, but still...
