Supposed to be getting cover art from Rockstar by month's end, so that means in the next 2 days (probably be the last minute, on the 31st). I reckon along with the cover art will be a "trailer coming soon" or countdown to the next trailer or such (I also assume trailer 3 will end with the release date).

Playing IV online at the moment and I'm getting back into the swing of things with it. I really, really like the driving in IV. I'm dreading V having really arcadey physics. My only real concern about the game at the moment. :o

Science fiction GTA "very tempting", says Rockstar
A science fiction Grand Theft Auto is "very tempting", Rockstar has said.

Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser discussed the possibility of a Grand Theft Auto set in the future, but not until they have a strong idea.

"We will do [a future setting] the very second we have an idea," he told French publication Écrans (via OXM).

"One of our strengths is the consistency of the game world. We're not necessarily the best writers in the world, but we know how to write a video game.

"When we decided to make a Western, it was because we knew we had something to say. We have no interest in going into science fiction for the sake of flying cars and laser guns.

"The best science fiction stories are those that speak about the human condition. So while this idea is very tempting and, by definition, anything's possible in a video game, we lack the essential thing for the moment: a good reason."

When asked about maintaining interest in old game franchises, Houser said he was "not worrying about this for a good while yet".

He continued: "In the past some of our titles have been successful, others less so, but as long as we have the ambition of making the kinds of games that nobody's ever made before, we're not going to get bored.

"To offer an analogy with cinema, some films can be told in one page of text. Once the basic situation is there, you know exactly how it will evolve.

"But if you're careful to change the narrative structure, it can change everything. Chris Nolan's Memento is a good example. That's the kind of approach we've achieved."

I've always hoped for a GTA game set in a Back to the Future 2-style near future.

Can't wait! By going back to San Andreas I hope that means it'll have the good stuff.

GTA IV really missed the jetpack or military jets...

GTA 2 was set in the then futuristic year of 2013.

    SEPTEMBER ??????
    Dear all
Today, we have an official release date to share with you: Grand Theft Auto V will arrive in stores on September 17, 2013.
We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time. GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require.
To all Grand Theft Auto fans, please accept our apologies for the delay, and our promise that the entire team here is working very hard to make the game all it can be. We are doing all we can to help ensure it will meet if not exceed your expectations come September – we thank you for your support and patience.
    Yours, The GTA Team

Ugh, what happened to Spring :(

I am kinda happy about this actually. I don't think I would have had the strength for Last Of Us and GTA V within a week or two of each other.

Just waiting for the flurry of "**** YOU ROCKSTAR LETS BOYCOTT GTA V" rants.

It was always going to be delayed, just glad its until September...could of been much worse

Well, at least we can stop arguing what months make up Spring.

Sucks, but going by some recent releases (Yes, I'm looking at you, Assassin's Creed 3), I'd rather get a polished game than a rushed glitchy one, and gives them more time to add in any new stuff they can think of too.

We've waited almost 5 years. We can wait a few more months. But this better be the best damn game ever or so help me...

I can see why it would be delayed a few months or a month or two, but over 4 months! To me that sounds like they hit a massive problem.
    Thoughts?

As someone else said, if it's compared to AC3, i'd rather a game that works. Perhaps they just realise that bringing it out in Spring is a huge rush job meaning unhappy people at release and gigabytes worth of patches.

I'm not one of these dumb American kids that posts crap about rockstar but I am extremely disappointed by this.

The way rockstar have conducted themselves regarding GTA V is micky mouse, amateurish bullish!t. Now we have another 8 months of they're little sh!tty information.

I want to be actually IN GTA V now. That's how good it needs to be.

Holy crap I just started it over the weekend. Glitches flying everywhere. Glitchiest game I've played since Skyrim on PS3. How it hasn't been fully patched by now baffles me.

It just makes it all the more laughable those who thought it would drop in 2012.
