Hey guys. Good morning. Quick question for ye all.

I just got offered €150 for World Heroes Jet on Neo Geo Aes. Now it's boxed and in good condition but correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that a tad over priced for what I had thought was a fairly common game and not at all 'l00k r@re!'

I would have thought so too. Do a search through ebay ended auctions just to make sure before selling it.

I take it it's a PAL version? Maybe that's a bit more expensive than the NTSC one?

Amusing Edge review of that mad looking Final Fantasy iOS game that was released last week: http://www.edge-online.com/review/final-fantasy-all-the-bravest-review/

Ouch. Square Enix, forever destined to dig holes for themselves.

I can't find any auctions that come near that price.

The problem I'm having is I cannot tell the difference between NTSC and pal version. I've tried searching to find out but nothing. I've Ben asked on a few forums to no avail.

The offer was through eBay and the buyer has nearly 100 feedback and has been around for a bit so I reckon it's a genuine offer. However, with the farting around I've gotten in that lot I'm not sure.
I'm still waiting on the reply and its possible that the buyer will realise that maybe it isn't worth so much.

Was playing Puzzle Bobble the other day via Mame... brought back so many memories of being in the arcades years ago.

That's such an amazingly addictive game. It's the one game that everybody, gamer or non gamer, has always played on any mame cab I've ever owned. Simple, pick up and play games with lots of hidden depth are always the ones that go down the best.

Puzzle Bobble, Street Fighter, Bomberman/Dynablaster, and Pacman or Miss Pacman always seem to be the ones that everyone has always appreciated on any of my cabs. Even the missus (who is not a gamer by any stretch of the imagination) will play a 2 player game of puzzle bobble with me from time to time....

Guys, what do you recommend to open up a Gamecube console? I don't have the required tool. Priced it on eBay and couldn't find a cheap one. Watched Youtube videos of people melting pens with a lighter to try and remove the screws, seemed a bit too far and don't want to damage the console (or get high off plastic fumes). Anyone tried this before?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,183 ✭✭✭✭Atavan-Halen

I tried doing the pen and lighter before to open up a SNES. Didn't work as the pen couldn't get a good grip on the screw. I'd say just get one if the screwdrivers, they're only a couple of euro on amazon.

I might just have to do it but I don't have an account on Amazon and prefer using eBay as an account/paypal is already set up there.

A gamebit should cost peanuts on ebay. One of the most useful tools in a retrogamer's arsenal :)

Just picked up two Ninja Turtles games for PS2. One stalls about a minute into the first level, and the other is a NTSC. Sickened!

The NTSC one has Turtles In Time as an unlockable. I thought that would do great for one of the Insert Coin videos we do for HSN.

I'm not a big believer in the whole Mame craic, and I don't have a copy for my SNES. Not to worry though. I have plenty more tricks up my sleeves for th videos.

Just spent a lovely day hanging out with my new pals on Jamma+...
Not a cross dressing cosplayer, a hopelessly drunk Pokemon fiend or a pantry owner in sight!
Which is why I missed this place so much!
Still, my work pc let's me on there which is cool and I've a request in to see if someone has a pcb I'm after.
Spread the Cidey love around, that's what I say....

Have you ever played it through a 15Khz arcade screen in a real cab? Its almost 1:1 compared to the real boards

Nope, I sure haven't, but I'd imagine it's quite impressive. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with Mame, I'm just saying I'm not into it.
