In that case, you have bought a poster for €4

€4 is a great price for a poster like that, the other ones are €6-7 each, and that's the main reason I did the preorder to get the poster

It's not may 4th anyway, no way would they release on a Saturday.

May 4th would be a US date format if its a Saturday
It could be the 5th of April a Friday, that's the way the date was 05/04

Not that I claim to have any information on the game at all, but let's just say April 7th will be a day to look forward to... ;)

That is of course, only if you're interested in WrestleMania. As I say, I don't claim to have any information on the game. :P

On a less nonsensical note though, the above V/BattleField 3 trailer, is battlefield as open-world and free-roam-ish as it looks in that trailer? i have the PS3 sitting here gathering dust, with the occasional bout of Motor Storm (racing game, which is actually a bit of fun, but has ludicrous AI) and wouldn't mind having something more open-worldy/GTA-ish to play.

Have considered picking up GTA IV Stories, and as of writing that last sentence just checked Argos' website and see they have it for €23 which is reasonable enough. For some reason when I started writing that sentence I thought it was about €40-€45 (and was going to complain about it being a ludicrous price point for such an old game). Might actually pick it up for €23.

For some reason April 23rd is stuck in my head as a release date (even though nobody knows anything, and the whole 04/05 thing could still play into R*'s hands.

Battlefield is nothing like GTA. It's an online multiplayer shooter not unlike Call of Duty - only bigger and more team focused. It has tanks, jets, attack helicopters etc as well as infantry only maps. It works better on PC due to the size of the maps and being a first person shooter and all.

BF3 was the first in the main series to add a single player campaign (Bad Company being the secondary series). Unlike the enjoyable Bad Company games the single player campaign in BF3 was an awful, scripted linear mess.

If you want more GTA style fun have a look at Saints Row.

Ah, from looking at the trailer I was thinking/hoping it'd be more like that old Conflict Desert Storm 2 game from a while back (army game, you pick a team of 4, and you have an objective, but you can pretty much free roam and do what you want in the process of completing the level). Was great fun; especially multi-player.

Downloaded Saint's Row on Steam before (part of the THQ Humble Bundle) but I can't get into it. Much as I'll be shot down for saying it; I actually enjoyed the more serious approach that GTA took with IV. Saint's Row just tries too hard to be funny, in my opinion. It's too cartoony to play or something :(

Looks like I'll head to Argos tomorrow to pick up a copy of GTA IV Episodes for the PS3 (€23). That is assuming they still have it (new Catalogue tomorrow).

Have you looked at Sleeping Dogs? More serious like IV but set in Hong Kong.

Give Just Cause 2 a try. Great game!

Same as that, saints row was just a cash in on the GTA concept IMO. It didn't have the depth of GTA.

It's fun for a while but get's boring quick.

May be obvious, but Red Dead? If you havent played it yet it's pretty much a Western version of GTA.

LA Noire too, once I finished the game I made it a mission to try and hit some pedestrians. Not easy to do!

Red Dead is outstanding, a masterpiece in gaming.

Definitely a must-play for open world games.

Read Dead is kinda boring imo. I never completed it though and did like it, but wasn't ever hooked.

Red Dead is a sensational game. Probably in my top ten ever.

Yeah, I agree. Absolutely love it. Even enjoyed the zombie dlc!

RDR was a well deserved game of the year and it is one of my all time favs.

I only just 100% RDR there in November, and still haven't even touched the Undead Nightmare. Plus I still haven't played Liberty City Stories cause I haven't 100% in GTA IV.

I just cant start the add ons for games until I have the main game 100% and I am completely stuck (couldn't be arsed) to find about 25 flying rats.

So I have plenty to keep me busy until the release of GTA V.

I've always said >90% is good enough provided the story is finished. GTA in particular has a lot of pointless stuff for 100%. Have gotten over 90% in all the GTA's but don't think I've ever got 100%. Usually races left which I HATE doing. Vice City was the exception, that was missing cars for the import since it didnt tell you what car was what

RDR is 100%, Undead Nightmare is around 90%, still missing the last level on two of the challenges. LA Noire is 100%, even though I spent a good six or eight hours just getting in and out of cars at the end to find them all :pac:

Well today I found out that a friend of mine who has a PS3 and rarely ever uses it actually has Read Dead Redemption and Sleeping Dogs. So I got a lend of them and I'll give them both a bit of a going over when I get a chance (tomorrow afternoon with any luck).

In the mean time I'll give online GTA IV ELFC a blast on the PS3. See if I can get into the swing of things again. Haven't played it in a long, long time.

    Is this a new screenshot?

I'm doubtful that it is, but I can't recall seeing it before, to be honest.

I can't wait for the email notification that says "News. News. We have news" :pac:

Really hoping they don't release it until mid May after I finish my exams.

I also have exams in May so I'm just hoping it doesnt come out late April or early May. Any other time and I'll be able to get the initial play, then put it away for the week and a bit I have exams. I won't be able to do that if it's out too close to them.

I did the same. For the very last car I had to find, I spent hours driving around and returning to a spot where the internet said the particular type of car was to spawn. I think I found it completely by chance in the end, it was a relief when I did :pac:.

If it's not coming out in February or March, then I too want it to be mid-May.

    I can't fail this exam AGAIN. :( :\
