Also, I just read this on the newswire:

Maybe we'll get the release date at that point too

Edit: This screen has also been released on the V homepage in HD. It was previously seen in a Hungarian magazine, I think.

I'm positive that Vice City had Kill Frenzy's also; actually, playing through it again on my iPad pretty much confirms that fact.

I've seen similar countdown timers on various sites. Pure guesswork and speculation on their parts.

Just checked it there. They've changed it now. The countdown timer had the gta picture with the countdown on it this morning. Weird.

107 days from today is April 25th.

Dead space is out in February.

Gta has a rough release period as quarter 2, being April, May and June.
The only games slated for release around those months are Star Trek, a new Dead Island and The Last Of Us.

They might be only speculating when the release will be and got it somewhat right, or maybe R* has sent out word that a release date will be printed on the backs of the covers (until the game starts shipping when it will be the actual game cover) so they are, again, only guestimating.
Doesn't blockbuster still own Xtravision?

Spring is anytime between the first week of January and the last week of December of the that year. In the Southern Hemisphere spring begins on the second week of the last month of the year and ends the first week of the 11th month the next year. Rockstar are more than likeily going to release GTA in this time frame.

Well we know we're getting cover art this month. I'd say when the cover art is released, they'll give us a third trailer announcement, and the third trailer will feature the release day. Seen as we're close to spring time (which, according to this thread is anywhere between march and february) and we haven't gotten a lot of word, I do fear a delay is in the works.

To be fair we could easily be five months from release and still be within the timeframe that Rockstar mentioned.

Just a quick question lads.

I pre-booked with Gamestop a few weeks back, at the time i booked it on the 360. I got a PS3 for Xmas though and will obviously want it on that instead, will there be an issue with swapping consoles? Its a long long time since i pre-booked a game so dont know if the rules have changed.

Should be fine as there's plenty of time before the game comes out (ie. They wouldn't have ordered their stock of it yet), though you might have to go in as they'll probably have to change the receipt they gave you

Haha, that reminds me of going into extravision there when the secound trailer came out. I was like; "I don't suppose, ye get the release date before everyone"? He said no, I slammed a fiver down on the counter, he started to sweat heavily... I squinted my eyes and said, "I'll be back.." put the fiver back into my pocket and walked out the door.

Has there been anything at all recently let alone a release date? There seemed to be a nice bit of buzz before Christmas and now thats all gone from where I'm sitting, why wouldnt Rockstar keep releasing gimmicky stuff just to keep the interest high?

Even in my mind it still seems like the release is a loooong time away! It could have gotten to the point that the game would be out and I wouldnt have even blown the inch think film of dust off my PS3 and made sure its still working.

(No prizes going for guessing which disc will pop out when I press eject!)

I dont see this game coming out in the next 4 months at all. This is the most hyped game since GTA IV. THe fact no information has leaked has me believing there is no information out there.


I wouldnt recommend people pre book this game where they have to make a deposit. I never pre book games and I always buy them on release day and iv no problems. Look at what happened HMV. Id say alot of people pre booked with them, put down a deposit and now all is lost.
