It was the Waterford-Kilkenny road I think.

Just looked it up there, my parents know the man who was in the other car very well, he's originally from Tipperary. He didn't come out so well either.:( Such an awful thing to happen.

Hopefully he recovers okay. I think there were 3 three cars involved but from what I've heard noone was to blame for the crash, just a tragedy.

The youngest man whose funeral you're attending overtook a car and unfortunately didn't see my parents friend coming the opposite direction. Could happen to anyone, it's awful. He's paralysed from the neck down, and his elbow is in very bad shape, he's likely to lose the arm.

Things like this always make me very aware of how I must be vigilant at all times when I'm behind the wheel, it's very easy to think "it'll never happen" but these people were just going about their normal day when this occurred.

Aw that's awful, the poor man. It was meant to have been very foggy too according to an article I read online. That's very true, you have to be careful on the roads at all times, especially during bad weather.

The funeral was so sad, the church was completely full with tons of people outside too. I hope my friend, his family and the friends of the young man are doing okay.

I need to make a decision... but I suck at making decisions...

I could either spend 300e and either have a lot of fun or fail miserably at what I want to do...

Or save 300e, and have an extra 300e in the bank for the future and shizz...

    Bah. :(

Cant take your money to the grave. So spend it on the fun things in life while you're young and haven't got a tonne of bills to pay.

Speeding and driving over the limit are NOT the same thing. The sooner the idiotic drivers of Ireland realize this, the better.

Breaking the sped limit = driving faster than the posted limit

Speeding = driving too fast for road conditions

There are plenty of tiny, dangerous country roads where I live where the posted sped limit is 80-100 :O and plenty where there is a posted limit, (and rightly so) of 50 kph etc, yet I fail to see a Garda presence on these (dangerous) roads.
Instead, they apply ridiculously low speed limits on wide, open roads (even dual carriageways) and stand there with their speed guns and gatso vans rubbing their greedy fucking paws collecting revenue. Patrol the country roads and swap the 100 kph limit on the dirt road with the 50 on the two-lane dual carriageway and you might save some lives ... cop the fuck on RSA and Gardaí

But who decides what is safe in certain conditions? In the majority of cases the speed limits are appropriate tbf. I replied to a post like this before here too actually. I do agreed about the speed vans, they should have cameras, not a van you can see from half a mile back, and they should be in places where accidents occur, rather than where speeding occurs (not saying I condone inappropriate speed).
