I'd love to have one of these sitting in the living room.

    That looks AWESOME.

I can also see those being the future of photography studios... particularly for tethered shooting.

The all but announced steambox looks interesting, though the 1000dolla mark will have to be subsidized heavily.

Remember drooling over them as just modular server gear at last years coverage.

It looks interesting alright but it's still too early for me to get excited about it. It's looking like the Project Shield is going to have a fairly hefty price tag too.

The novelty would probably wear off after a week or two but it looks great and could come in handy when you need the john while watching a livestream!

Sorry about that, should have linked the actual pic - figured a link to the page + conversation going on would be better! :o

just did the final touches on my prodigy build. after bootlooping, i noticed the asrock z77e-itx has no dr.debug ive come to rely on, or a bloody internal speaker header to help find the error!!

anyway, i started on the ram, cause its the most likely, and lucky enough they werent in properly. only one side clicks in and youve to push pretty hard to get the other side in. pop it in and happy days.

RAID0 setup was easy enough, except for the catleap initializing too late to see what key to press to get into the config (Ctrl+I), so had to use my second screen. settled on the recommended 16kb stripe size.

windows7 install from USB -> SSD = fast
from USB -> RAID0 SSD's is bloody amazing. i swear it took no more than 5 or 6min before i hit the desktop. next time ill time it for sure.

    ill get up pics soon.

I've those same single sided latches on my board, an invention only matched by push pins in the amount of force thats needed :o Glad to hear the rest of the build went well though :D

Something that Bloodwing in particular might find interesting, given his recent purchase. I was quite surprised by the results myself. Apparently larger framebuffer doesn't help at all in 2560x1600, or surround.

Makes for interesting reading. I haven't had the chance to check out my performance yet as I'm stuck in limbo waiting on FedEx to find my parcel! I would have expected to see some sort of difference with the higher vram.

    Question for anyone who's interested:

If I were to place a link in the Selling PC Gear thread to a 600T and Z77 Ex4, might anyone be interested?

I'll give you €1 (yes, a whole one!) off. How's that sound?

Yeah, the 670 is quite nice looking. I'd go so far as to call it "cute" with the cooler off and waterblock installed. It's adorably tiny. You sort of look at it and just think "aawww..."

lads, would it be possible that mobile phones wireless network become weaker?

I could get wireless connetion with my phone anywhere in the house, not it only works inside the room where rooters is. strangely enough all other devices still work at the same range... could my phone be fecked?

Could be the network. You could stick your SIM into another phone to see if it's the handset.

    edit:

Just got my 256gb crucial m4, a day early too, well done that postman :)

    H
as anyone here setup two different sized SSD's (128 &256) in raid 0? how does it work with the different capacities?

Any way to strip a soundtrack from a movie file that has another language play by default? Or, is there a way to choose which play by default in VLC? How dare there be other languages in the world, totes annoying...

What your am by network m8? Surely that should be device side only? Misses in on O2 network too and her phone get wireless everywhere. That's really weird.

It doesn't, AFAIK. The whole idea of RAID 0 is that the data is written to both drives at once, once you try to write the 129th gigabyte, you'll be stuck with one drive.
