Thanks for the links, but damn that is an expensive router!
I have two modem/routers at home so I might try using one as a modem & bridge it, then connect the other as a router.

It would be class to finally get rid of the endless drops.

How's the wifi range on that router? I currently am using a DIR-655 but the wifi is just a bit too weak to reach the whole house.

This arrived today, got it with 50% off during the Razer sale :) Overall I'm liking it so far and the sensor is amazing on it. Its a lot bigger than I expected, which is great as I have large-ish hands.

Jury is still out on the shape of it though I still have to have a proper flute about with the height & length adjustments. I'm not gone on synapse software-I don't really need cloud based mouse settings ffs, but its no where as bad as I read & I like the way it also works for my trusty Deathadder.

I wasn't even sure it was a mouse until the last picture, and even then I think that may have only been because it was alongside another mouse :pac:

my bloody mouse went on fire

plugged it into a cheapo usb hub, fizzing silicon noise, smoke. A surprising amount of smoke.

mouse does not connect or light up or display in any OS.

So eh.. since I no longer have a mouse: Can anyone recommend a decent, fairly cheapish (<€40) mouse? Quick delivery (or it being local, but hey, rip off republic) would be nice since I'm completely without one atm..

I have the opposite problem, and have a SteelSeries Sensei raw for sale on adverts. You can have it for €40 if you want it.

You don't actually need to remove Java, just the Java plugin for your browsers.

But if you don't actually use the Java Runtime then yeah, removing it althogether is the easiest way.

Really? Didn't notice that. Then again, I didn't sit through the full bloody hour he went on talking about a rig he took months to make, and ended up only drilling a few holes in, and doing a bunch of cable management with.

(Yes, I know my even simpler rig has taken even longer, stay quiet)

It is really cool that he dedicated the whole Orca build to his mum, but is it really necessary to share all of that with his subs? It's just a bit uncomfortable when when he gets upset (which is perfectly natural), but the fact is that I watched the video for the computer and not his mother.

im kinda optimistic about the oculus rift but the consumer model needs to be very high res (1080p is not enough imo) and light and balanced on the head i also dont know how head tracking will work when you sit in a chair. if done wrong it will make you feel sick

I have a feeling though this will end up like 3d, a fad

Pirillo has motion sickness and it doesnt bother him at all.

You really think 1080 wont be enough?

It probably works fine in the demo but when its implemented by devs it might not be done right

I'm cynical about the fact that it will be that close to your eyes that if the ppi isnt high enough it will cause eyestrain after a decent session using it. my eyes have just about recovered from the virtual boy.

I'll wait to see what valve have to say at GDC

Dedicating A PC to yer ma... now thats just sad.

The more I hear about oculus the more I think it has a chance. Its not some overpriced SONY **** and a lot of established devs seem keen on it.
