True and did it in a stuka FFS. Not exactly a high speed fighter. Then again they could take huge punishment and keep flying. He was most definitely a dyed in the wool nazi. Big admirer of herr hitler right to the end(and beyond). You read his book of the war and everytime he writes about meeting his glorious leader it reads like he's jacking off with excitement. Even hatched a plan to fly his stuka into Berlin to rescue him. Not particularly well liked by other pilots. Real humourless tightarse by all accounts and a full on unrepentant nazi.

I'd give props to Hans Joachim Marseille, unreal pilot and for his time a bit of a rebel longhair playboy. Even liked listening to jazz which got him into trouble. Sometimes missed missions because he was up the previous night having his way with various ladies.
