    Erwin Rommel is my favourite German general. I'm not sure if he was a member of the Nazi party.

    He was highly skilled in desert warfare and I don't think that any of his Afrika Korps were accused of any war crimes.

    He was linked to the German Resistance against Nazism as well.

Does 20 years inside, writes a book, gets out and travels the world doing interviews about his time working for the Reich. Goes back to Berlin, sells of the paintings for a nice sum and finally dies in London in a hotel room whilst in the throws of passion with his considerably younger mistress.

    Evil yet clever, very clever indeed.
