Could just as easily have been a discrepancy with the run. I remember the last dyno day I was at (up at urban), Joe/Gary kept running a few cars because the car might not hit peak over the first few runs.

Realistically you'd have to do a single blind test* on 100+ cars after determining baseline BHP to get any sort of statistically significant data to suggest it has an effect.

It had hit the peak, the results had levelled out. Personally, I wouldn't spend the money on it but I seen the difference it made.

Fitted the Xenon White Headlights last night, I am well impressed with the results and item quality (even if the battery side light was a fooker to get to) and all for €15 ;)

There a great job, something so simple can make such a difference! :)

I will see if it makes any different and I let you know if it's work for me :) It's definetely not work on the cars which should drive on pb95 but it should work on cars which should drive on pb98 or pb100 and you put pb95+booster in it. Or maybe someone know if there is any garage offer pb98 around Dublin? I had pb100 instead of pb95/98 in my Audi when i was in Germany and it made a big different.

I was reading some USA test of one of the boosters... It change octane level from 93 to 97.8 when you add 1l into 60l of petrol :) Will see :P

advertsfox: are them pseudo-xenon work better in your car than normal lights? My dad has one of them and i have to say they are sh... not good. I was driving by his car last night and i thought the lights are still off. They look nice that's true but if all them working the same as my dad's i don't want them. Driving too much on night time :)

The MPS was supposed to take 98 or higher and by following the instructions (1 bottle treats 60 ltrs) it made no difference. It didn't even reduce engine knock which was the main reason I was using it and that was after disconnecting the battery for half an hour.

not sure though, but i think ecu has to be reprogram for our fuel, i know, skylines, which came from japan, where they using 98 or 99 there, so had to be reprogram ecu, to run on 95 .

The MPS was EU spec so it was mapped from the factory to run on 95RON but this wasn't getting the full benefit from the engine. I was using software and put on a map for 98RON. It was causing engine knock so I tried the octane booster on several runs and using data logging with knock retard parameter, it should no reduction on any run compared to not using it at all.

The whole idea of me disconnecting the battery for half an hour was to get rid of the fuel trims the ECU had stored. This has to be done so the ECU can make the best of an actual higher RON fuel or indeed, make use of octane booster treated fuel if it worked.

wouldnt be complete ecu reset, when disconnect from battery both leads, and join them for a 12 hours ? i think, i was doing for one fiesta, but there was different problems.

It was only half an hour for the Mazda in order to clear the fuel trims :)

That and the painted calipers (+25 kw) should be relayed to your insurers for their records. Don't let the power get away from you. :D

My original badges were starting to delaminate and were looking tatty so I decided to change them out for the newer black ones. Very happy with how they look and I think they suit a black car nicely.

    Excellent

    Do they fit 100%?
any side shots to show if they stick out or are as flush as the originals?
I considered fitting these along with the wheel ones.

The front badge is pretty much the same size as the old so fits in perfectly fine. The rear though is slightly larger than the original so instead of sitting in the circular recess in the boot it actually sits just on the outer rim. Best way to fit is to use strong double sided tape and fill in the recess so that the new badge has more surface area to stick to. Its still not perfectly flush as the badge is flat and the boot is slightly curved you can see in the pics. Very hard to notice though unless you are looking very closely.

Now TT, get some silver indicator bulbs to finish it off:D

All i did today was get 4 litres of oil, just to top it up as needs be. My car doesn't seem to have an oil drinking problem, most seem to have it, but I haven't had to top up at all in months.

Also, I have a question. My car has been fogging up like mad recently. There's no pools of water in the car, but either way, does anyone have a good solution for stopping this? Some people have said, just using soapy water on the inside glass does it, but I'm not sure.

When did you change a pollen filter last time? Maybe it's time to do so. :)

As was mentioned, a new pollen filter would be a good idea but you should first follow the steps I posted HERE. Also, set your fan to use fresh air, not recirculate it.

Cheers fellas, pollen filter was changed about a month ago :(. So doubt it's that.

Cheers MM, I'll do that tomorrow, i have that glass polish stuff in the shed alright, so hopefully it'll sort it!

    Cheers!

I see so many people driving in cold weather with fogged up windows. I reckon there's a lot of people don't know how to use the fan properly in their car. Lots of people get in the car, turn fan and heat up full until they start to cook then turn it all off, rinse and repeat. Personally my fan is always on and I don't have an issue. (I'm not saying you are doing this Al)

If you have A/C and use it all / most of the time when you turn it off the car will fog up more quickly for sure.

Yeah, I have doubts that my A/C is working correctly, as it doesn't seem to clear it much at all. Which is surprising. It will still take minutes for it to even clear the windscreen. My blower isn't terribly strong either, as in, at 1 it barely blows, 2 is okay, and 4 is pretty strong.

    Try 3 then! :D

Unless it needs to be gassed the A/C should clear it in seconds.

So, decided to give my brand new Snow Foam lance a go!

Have to say, I wasn't overly impressed, either I'm not doing something right with the mixture/dilution, or the detergent isn't the best. But it still gave an alright bit of foam.

End result was pretty satisfactory though
    nice car but

Not today but on Saturday I serviced my car for the first time myself, extremely proud! Changed the oil, oil filter and the spark plugs.

Followed Volvoboy's guide in the DIY section and it wasn't difficult at all. Hardest part was getting the old oil filter off which was a bit challenging, ended up with a screwdriver through it :o

I would recommend anyone who is thinking of giving it a go to just do it. Very satisfying.

Next to service my sisters yaris :)
