So you can't provide a source for your claims and don't seem to understand how averages work

If thats the case why would they just not offer walcott abit more and get him to sign rather then let him leave for free . To me this is a sign of a club who have a wage structure and will not break it no matter how good the talent is . That could all possibly change when the stadium is payed for but while they pay it back they have decided on wages and thats how they will run the club .

£100k a week according to this. I did read somewhere that he was on 110k though. I presume hes on somewhere in that region anyway.

But really are we far off the points you thought we'd have at this stage?

Posters were going on about 4 points from Swansea and Spurs as a decent return, its actually an excellent return for any club in the PL, sometimes I wonder about expectations.

The points that we have gotten over the last 6/8 league games have been close to my expectations. The results prior to that and in knockout competitions more recently have been well below my expectations.

Some of the negative comments have been way over the top and I have argued against them as recently as yesterday but a lot more of positive comments stink of denial.

I am happy to see the return of clean sheets but I am still annoyed by some decisions at the end of the transfer window (allowing Carroll to go without a replacement being signed) and some team selections (Joe Cole in particular).

That link doesn't say what he is on. It uses that classic "reports" and its from March which is months before he signed.

Woah, few high earners there who dont even make matchday squads. Still nowhere near as bad as our situation with cole but its good to see other clubs are paying dumb wages for unused players :pac:

    Wow

    Ju Young Park £50,000 £2,600,000
    Vito Mannone £30,000 £1,560,000

I really hope the owners had a read of that before deciding to go the Arsenal route...a lot of average players on high wages. I don't think that's a better plan than a few sh*t players on high wages.

I'm pretty sure Liverpool could match the below part about wasting money.

Based on my salary estimates above, we can better view Wenger’s horrendous cash wastage by examining the salary spend on the following distinctly average players over a 4-year period.

    Vito Mannone £6.2m
    Kieran Gibbs = £10.4m
    Ju Young Park = £10.4m
    Wojciech Szczesny = £10.4m
    Lukasz Fabianski = £10.4m
    Aaron Ramsey £10.4m
    Johan Djourou £10.4m
    Sebastien Squillaci = £10.4m
    Nicklas Bendtner = £10.4m
    Denilson £12.4m
    Abou Diaby £12.4m
    Andre Santos £12.4m
    Marouane Chamakh = £12.4m

Much respect to Alan this evening, I might disagree with him on some things he posts on here but he honoured our bet from pre-season by donating to my charity page.

    RESERVES STAFF
    Liam Brady £3,200 £166,400

    Not good enough today.

Suarez is carrying the club at the minute.

Rodgers has underperformed hugely thus far & our league position at in Dec virtually is just horrendous & inexcusable.

You can't win the Grand National with a donkey.

How are Gibbs/Szcesny a waste of money? Also the figures in that link aren't confirmed or anything.

Denilson/Bendter are on loan so Arsenal won't be paying wages for them either

It is quite common for the large club loaning out a player to a smaller club to pay a large percentage of the players high wages when out on loan.

I think in the case of someone like him Arsenal would be paying a large percentage of his wages.

Will we revert back to a 5-3-2 on Wednesday against Spurs?

We did okay today, Swansea aren't a bad team. The same old weaknesses were clear for all to see again though and it will always be that way until we strengthen.

I'd consider resting Gerrard on Wednesday.

That Sterling, despite being an amazing prospect, wouldn't make much of an impression on the team this season. Think it was something like 10 starts.

    At Juventus? :pac:

Can't say I know a whole lot about it but would assume that Juve could afford his wages tbh
