My nearest game shop is a 25 minute drive! You guys don't know how good you have it.

Nothing to lose by pre ordering it, potentially a lot to lose if you don't (well...a few hours gameplay, but right now I've give my left nut for just that)

Try living an hour from the nearest game shop... and not being able to drive... :o:(

Though I don't get why people are pre-ordering now... I'm gonna wait until I see what bonuses are on offer... and given R* were the people behind the Max Payne Collector's Edition, I'm definitely waiting for that announcement.

Just thinking about IV and I really hope those poxy pigeons and seagulls stay in Liberty City instead of finding their way to San Andreas. Bring back the hidden packages!

    Or the oysters

It would be cool if you could find John marston's grave and get an achievement.
Or how about finding a different type of hidden packages that are only possible to locate by landing there from parachute.
Also i hope there's cats that you can shoot or set the dogs on it....:pac:

oooh, do you think there may be horses? I loved them in RDR.

Imagine getting a horse out in the countryside and riding through the streets of Los Santos! :)

Never even thought of horses being in the game. Doubt they'll include them but...man, it would br crazy. Cars ploughing in to Animals will be kind of funny. Not because I don't feel for animals. It will be funny like, I liked hogtying a woman on the traintracks in RDR.

Or find his old repeater sealed away somewhere or in a museum during a heist.

They could do a true lies type mission where you are on a horse chasing a motorbike. See here

I'm fairly certain its probably not going to be in the game but Surfing is one thing they could have included

Did killing those pigeons even serve a purpose? I can't remember getting anything from it.

A trophy/achievement, i think you get a helicopter if you kill them all too

It would be great if different houses were meth-labs, grow houses or stash houses at different times and you could do stick-up side-missions. Omar comin yo!.

I'd love to find graves for Martson and Cole. Dont put years on the grave stone and it wont be a spoiler for the game. Both were set long enough ago that you'd have to play the games to find out if they died during the game, or afterwards.

A trophy and a few percent towards 100. Unless you wanted 100% they produced nothing. Even the gang tags in San Andreas gave you weapons as a reward. Something like 100 rare and highly illegal drug stashes (you could buy the more common stuff on the street for example) that you could sell for profit would be great.

I've said it before, but I really hope the prison is used this time around. Get arrested and either have to pay bail (varies depends on wanted level) to get out, or spend time inside (which again varies) making friends or enemies. Wont happen but still...

whats the big deal with putting animals in a game its not as if there real so what the problem if we kill them surely the whole point of gta is so you can escape from reality and go mental, what i know for certain is that if a dog runs infront of my car hes got no chance of survival

Bitch please, is there someone stopping them from putting animals in?

These guys would probably have a problem with it.

I always laugh at the complaints about animals being involved in games like this. The object of the game is to kill PEOPLE. Surely that is a much bigger problem than animals?

Robbing banks, having sex with hookers and then killing them to get your money back ---> PETA doesn't care

Accidentally hit a deer while driving to that bank robbery ---> PETA will burn your house down you heartless, animal murdering BASTARD!

i love the way my name makes that sentence look but yes there seems to be a taboo with killing animals in games

You killed animals in RDR, scores of them. I shot rabbits, bluebirds.....

....i can still see their faces

I shot the guard dog! :D

The only time I felt bad about an animal dieing in it was when my first horse died during a bounty mission. I had the guy hogtied so once I found my horse dead I put a bullet in his head instead of bringing him in alive. :pac:

I had no problem with the animals dieing after that. After all, it's only a game!

I'd imagine if anything is flattened out, it is only explorable areas. ie, Mount Chilliad may be flattened out but not a skyscraper

But a skyscraper would be an explorable area (as would interiors).

They're the ones that mentioned topography (IGN interview with Houser, I think), not me :o

It's a silly point to argue as we won't know for sure until the game comes out (and by then we'll all have completely forgotten about it) but I'm 90% sure that's what R* said/meant.

Anyone think R* have gone a bit too overboard on the emptiness this time around? I know people were complaining about no free space in IV and that it was too much of a 'concrete jungle', but from the makey-uppy maps we've seen so far, it seems R* have just gone from one extreme to the other :(

Well if you're right about the size of the map quoted including the vertical heights of the buildings (which i'm pretty sure you're not) then there will hardly be any empty spaces.

The problem is, if you got busted while on a mission, if you had to spend time in jail by the time you got out, it could be unrealistic to replay the mission. Example: If you got arrested on a Bank Heist and had to spend even just 2 days in jail before being released, it wouldn't make sense to try the bank heist mission again.

I agree about the prison being used more, and I would like to see missions where you're actually in jail, have to make connections etc. But it'd have to be part of the story rather than something which happens and increases every time you're arrested.

Agree with this. I don't think serving prison time in the way gnfnrhead suggested would fit in a GTA game tbh.

It could easily happen that one of the three protags gets arrested on a job and then you have to do missions in jail (the content of which I have no idea), which would be an interesting route to go down...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,881 ✭✭✭JohnMarston

You could have it so that, depending on your level of planning, you run the greater (or lesser) risk of getting arrested. If you do, you have to lay low and do other jobs, let an allotted amount of time pass, and try again.

Pay the bail and be out after whatever, six hours pass. Whatever it usually is when you get busted. I agree it won't happen, I'd just like to see something like that. It doesn't need to be the exact same, just that idea.

I wonder when we can expect to see gameplay now? Pictures and trailers won't cut it for me anymore.

A relax, it will be a while yet. I reckon we may have another trailer or two to go yet.
