Was it just me, or everytime you get into that plane, is Eminence Front by The Who playing on the radio by default?

Only ever played SA on PS2, really, but I did notice that... or it could've just been coincidence, of course.

Freebird always seemed to be playing when i got in that plane or Two Tickets To Paradise by Eddie Money.

Either way K-DST was always on when i got in a plane haha

There is no might about it. Do it

You are obviously biased on this matter Mr Marston but I will.

I'm not biased but I also advocate the doing of it. Spellbinding game once you get into it.

If you plan on going for 100%, I'd advise you to look at the outfit requirements and making sure you follow them. I'll have to restart the whole game due to
killing a bounty I needed to capture
    . Not that I mind, it's a great game.

For those of you who don't own GTAIV on PC (shocking)

It is only €8.74 on Steam today. It even includes Episodes from Liberty City.

Quite enjoying playing GTA IV again.

Eddie Lowe has just met his maker thanks to a combat shotgun.

What do you expect? we are here waiting for some sort of news on GTA V. Which, once it comes out the lot of us will be in hibernation for months on end and then finally we will finish GTA V and we will emerge from the darkness with long ruggid beards and shabby hair styles, into the the blinding sun light. :P So I think this is the perfect place! :D

So for a quick Friday morning (burn those last working hours!) discussion:

What do you think comes next after GTA V? Since the new consoles they have done Liberty City and now Los Santos? Would natural progression be to do San Fierro and Las Venturas? Personally I don't think they'd have the same appeal.

For me I'd like them to redo Vice City.

Hypothetically if they did follow this path - do you think they'd release a game that is a combination of all 5 cities (on some NextGen console)? Obviously this would be 2020 and beyond.

What do you want to see? Something COMPLETELY different?

I think a Las Venturas game would be an interesting route to go down. You could really get into the Triads and casino storyline...

I think they'll be wary of redoing VC to be honest. I think they'd be afraid of pissing off the fan-boys if it wasn't exactly a HD remake of Tommy Vercetti's story.

I don't know about Vice City to be honest. With Los Santos, you have the city and the countryside, but you also have beaches. Vice City would just be city and beach. Plus, chances are they won't go back in time due to how important phones and internet are in IV and V, so it wouldn't be 80's Vice City, it'd be 2010's Vice City. And as this is a new era of games, you wouldn't be running into a middle-aged Tommy Vercetti or anything.

I'd prefer San Fierro and Las Venturas in one game, with more countryside and desert between them. Unless they decide to go a completely different way and give us a city in another country, I'd say that's what we'll get next; the rest of San Andreas. There's no other real cities in America you could base a game off which would be different enough, and cities which aren't on the coast causes problems with the game boundaries.

If they re-did VC I'd expect them to do what they're doing in GTA V and leave the previous city behind and only leave some moderate references. They could do a full mock up of Miami and the surrounding countryside (Everglades etc).

They would definitely have to combine SF and LV in a game, I dont think they'd stand on their own. SF is too tame for me, I dont think theres a lot to add to the LV in SA.

chicago and detroit could be good.

I'm hoping for a new city. Why not make one up and pick and choose what things to put in? You could have a desert on one side, snowy mountains another, beach and ocean a third and a canyon or something the fourth. Literally no limit to what they could put in to a made up city.

Basically, I hope they don't just do another remake of a City we've already got.

Having real cities was always part of the attraction for me
    +1 for Detroit.

I think a completely new city or cities will be on the cards for the next gen. There's not a whole lot that they can expand Vice City, besides possibly adding the Everglades and some kind of Disneyworld theme park.

It'd have to be somewhere that there's enough cultural references to utilise that their vibe is recognisable. That's essentially what the GTA cities are. Real cities as defined by pop culture.

Personally I'd love to see Europe. Possibly London, Paris and Amsterdam or Berlin.

A city they've created in the GTA universe but have given away very little about is Carcer city. It was always mentioned on the radio in pretty much every GTA, from 3 to LCS.

If they do a remake of Vice City, they do have a lot of current day material to make use of. Burn Notice and Dexter are both set in Miami, and if you're some sort of anti-hero/hero, storylines and missions could be taken from those.

In regards city/area characteristics, they could take a lot from Florida itself. A main city hub with smaller cities on the outskirts that could resemble Orlando and Tampa, plenty of beaches, the Everglades and swamps, Disneyworld :pac: And if they invested the time properly, they could put a Cuba/Guantanamo some distance off the coast. And maybe some mission would have you escape from Guantanamo and have to make the swim to Vice City.

I don't know why they haven't had seperate development cycles with 2 different variants of Rockstar working on 2 GTA games at once. In 2 years they could have made a very good Vice City 2 after IV and the DLC coming out and then the other studio could have helped work on this after the DLC for that came out. Maybe a pipe dream but with such a money spinner to only have 2 come out on this era of consoles is criminal really considering 3 came out in a much shorter timeframe on the last consoles.

I like the idea of a Motor town city: Chicago, Detroit.

You've got lakes, countryside, downtown, wealthy suburbs and desperate neigbourhoods, vast abandoned industrial expanses, airports, subway/elevated. Criminal gangs galore too, would like to see the whole winning territory thing introduced once more.

Plus you've got the History, Al Capone and the mob roots. Maybe they could take a leaf out of the film The Untouchables? Except a 21st century version.

Not to mention Chicago/Detroit being great music cities!

But maybe we're getting ahead of ourselves. Just roll on V for christ's sake!!

That's what I was actually going to suggest, too.

There were a lot of rumours (baseless, evidently) going around before that they were gonna do Dublin, London and Paris in a game (as the 3 cities). I thought that seemed like a pretty good idea at the time.

I think anything outside of the US will be approached with caution by Rockstar, though (and understandably so). Mind you, from what I understand (and I could be completely wrong) the Getaway was set in London and sold quite well?
