It says on it not to enter unless you have received that letter. And I remember someone saying in a topic that if you do enter the details before you receive your letter, you won't get the grant! Umm, maybe you should ring them up and ask about it?

I'm not sure to be honest. It was just what read weeks ago from another poster. If it is the case, it is ridiculous.

I got a letter requesting further documentation; can anyone help explain exactly what I need:

F16: Please ensure all income you receive during 2011 is declared supported with documents. Include P45 dated Sept 2011. Please state what income you lived on for rest of year and if you were in receipt of social welfare of any kind, a statement detailing this must be provided.

F2: Please supply a statement from dept. social welfare stating all payments issued from 1st Jan to 31st Dec 2011. Download susi social welfare form and get it completed and stamped by your social welfare office.

I already sent in my P45 dated Sept 2011, so I guess I'll just send it in again. But can someone explain the underlined part, and what exactly I'd need to send them? I was just living on the money I had for the rest of the year until I got another job in November?? So what do I give them? Also would the statement detailing this not be the same as the statement they ask for in F2?

For F2, I'm studying in the UK; will I be able to just send someone on my behalf in with this form to be completed and stamped or do I have to be present??

    Jim -Stark

You must put it in writing to them that since the time you got your P45 in Sept 2011 that you lived off your savings, there is nothing wrong with that.

Download the Social Welfare form from the SUSI website and send it directly to Social Welfare in Dublin, before you post it fill in the appropriate boxes like your SUSI ref number etc, you can post it from the UK to Dublin, they are very good, tell them you need it for your grant form and you should have it back in 7 to 10 days, if you have family in Ireland ask Social Welfare to send it to your fmaily home and then they can forward it directly to SUSI.

You probably just got October's payment. You should get another payment this month. :)
Are you sure? I rang and asked SUSI last week and they said that I will get back pay, but a friend said they rang last week as well but they won't get any back pay (that if you get your first payment in January your last payment is in September).
I don't know what to think. I have only €40 until my next payment. :/

They seem to have a different story for everyone, I got my first payment on friday for september and no backpay even though SUSI rep Robbie stated here that anybody due backpay would get it with their first payment, I rang SUSI and they put me on hold and then said I should get it in december even though she sounded as though she actually didnt have a clue!!! she then told me to e-mail payments which i did on friday and am yet to get a response! It seems SUSI have a total lack of communication going on and I feel sorry for whoever is answering their phones as they actually have no information to go on they are just clutching at straws and have no solid info to give anybody at all!!

I haven't heard that before about the back pay. It is ridiculous if they have changed it like the way you say.

I'm due to get two payments (October and November) this Friday which is what I was told when I was last on the phone to SUSI.

Would Robbie the SUSI representative on here care to comment on this please????

I did get one payment the 9th of this month. I was told that I would get another one sometime this month. I would ring susi and get an answer but their helpline isn't working today for whatever reason.

AFAIK no one actually starts to get their first grant payment until october and end in june (it was that way with the old grant system and I think I heard it is going to be that way this year as well).

That is correct, you are supposed to get a payment in October which is paid in arrears for september, a payment in november which is again in arrears for october and so on until a final payment in june which is in arrears for may, 9 installments altogether. I got my first payment on Friday 16th November which was for september and i am still waiting to be paid for october. I will search for Susi Robbie's comment and put it up again.

my daughter app just gone into awaiting review after been submitted since 3 july anyone know how long this stage lasts hopefully not as long as submitted stage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18 angelaq99

If a student is awarded too late for any of their instalments i.e. after a payment cycle has run for that month then they receive their all backdated payments due in their first payment.

For example, if a student does not receive their first maintenance payment until December, they will receive September, October and November. They would receive payment for December in January. (Paid one month in arrears).

Really Robbie??? I got no backpay in my first instalment unless it is going to be paid to me this week? Maybe you can clarify this for me as the SUSI helpdesk seems to have no idea! cheers

It is possible that this Friday is Novembers payment date. I was told that I would be paid the Friday of the following week I entered my details which is this Friday for me. Someone did post about dates and November 23rd was given for November.

Thats what im hoping, the girl at SUSI said December oddly for some reason but she really wasn't sure, u just can't count on it being there until u actually see it in the bank lol! Im sure your payment will be there though hopefully with your backpay.

anyone know how many people have now received a payment?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 145 ✭✭Astrozombies

I recieved mine yesterday at midnight, I thought it was the 19th of every month and I guess that's about right?? But I only got one month's payment when I should of been backdated for October aswell. Also don't worry about entering the wrong codes, because I entered my details a week before I recieved my letter of approval and was meant to ring them up and ask about the codes but I forgot. They must of just realised I made the error and still gave me my payment!!

Well over a month since awarded full maintenance and bank details entered, and no money!
I am severely ****ed for money, and being in the UK does not help!

I just got a letter from SUSI saying that my payment is ready, I just have to accept it online now.

I don't know about the above user but I applied on the first day (June 11th) and only received my letter last week about being accepted. They contacted me on August 22nd looking for more documents. After that, the first I heard from them was last week. I'm waiting for my first payment which I was told would be Friday this week. It's seems to be a long process for everyone.

Have you contacted them about this? It seems to be that people are receiving their first payment since a couple of weeks ago and will get another one for November later in the month.

As in the letter to say how much you were rewarded? And that you have to enter in your bank details?

    ?

Yes i have been in constantly in contact with SUSI via email since i am inthe UK it has cost me over 50 quid to call.
    Today SUSI redirected me to
    payments@cdvec.ie
So contacted these guys, informed they have been trying to get my attendancerecords and proof I am registered as a student, she told me we have been tryingto contact the "finance department".
So I replied, "no this is the wrong department, you obviously contact therecords office regarding attendance"
They are an absolute bunch of incompetent idiots, so she will contact thecorrect office details tomorrow which I had to give her! Also I told therecords office at Edinburgh Napier to expect contact from SUSI.

Bloody hell, I have to do everything!

    I still don't know what;
Award: Full Maintenance and 100% Fees Adjacent and Maintenance Grant: €0.00
    actually means.

All I want to know is what €€ I am getting. Can't get an answer out of anybody. Robbie says he can't tell me for Data Protection reasons. The helpline is either unanswered or results in being fobbed off. And my e-mails go unanswered.

Whatever about the hassle of processing applications, surely it can't be that hard to access my file, check what I've been awarded, and use their training, knowledge and experience to tell me, in figures, what I am going to get.

How can I appeal within the specified time otherwise?

Couldn't have made more of a shambles of this if they'd tried.
