    Which ROM did you use?

I never changed ROM, Stevek. All I wanted was to be rooted so I could attach USB device to watch movies.

I have done that Pog, TitaniumPro is saying that I do not have root access and when I try to use a USB device it is not showing up as connected.
    Thanks for the reply.

You on 4.2? I'm on 4.2 and don't have root, I think the utility needs an update for 4.2

I have Nexus 7 and was rooted with stock ROM so I could attach USB device to it.
I installed the update this morning to 4.2 and went to re root the device using WugFresh Toolkit (worked perfectly before for me). Now it just says that it is "waiting for device to finish booting back up" on my laptop and on the Nexus I am getting the screen as per link below.

    http://i980.photobucket.com/albums/ae285/onemanclapping/IMAG0025.jpg

    Help appreciated.

I had this problem as well. This is what I did to get root back:
Download latest version of Wugfresh Toolkit (don't know if this step is actually necessary)
You have to change the model type of your nexus. You probably had it still set to Android 4.1.2. As 4.2 isn't available yet, change it to Android Any Build.
    Click Root and follow instructions.

I am trying to watch a programme on rte player but can't as there is no flash. What do you do about this? Also how do you stop keypad making noises?

Try dolphin broswer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser&hl=en as for the sound have a look at language & input in the settings.

I would say avoid the 16g as I have 5g used already after syncing my apps from my Galaxy S2. There is no SD slot so you can't do anything about it.

Many thanks for you reply Amalgram!!

That would be a great approach with the top up cards in tesco or similiar.. It always seems we get left behind with these technology things lol..

With not being able to download the mags or movies from play store, surely there must be other apps out there to install for these? i know netflix for movies..but duno for mags...

Sorry for the novice questions..i dont actually own an android device myself..

There is always Zinio for magazines.
Has the advantage of being multiplatform too.
Have a look at what they have on zinio.com

I picked one up (32GB) a couple of weeks ago in Currys/PC World (Tralee) without a problem.
So if you have a Currys/PC World near you, it might be worth checking out.

HMV were €10 cheaper last time I looked (€239).

Rooted once more with 4.2, Titanium and USB sticks acting 'normally'. Cheers.

I got mine for €239 in HMV at summer launch, but I saw a Currys/PC world ad last night on tv that had them priced at €239 in there also!
I can't find it on their website though!

I seen a 32gb Nexus 7 in Dixons in Blanchardstown shopping Centre (downstairs beside Dunnes Stores) on friday evening for €239.

Personally I think I will hold off until this Friday (Black Friday) and get one from Staples/Office Depot in the US who are rumoured to be selling the 32gb for $229 !!! works out about €180.

I noticed gmail on the nexus 7 seems to be working on a fetch basis?
I'll get an email and get a notification on the pc and iphone immediately but the nexus 7 may not pick it up for half an hour if left alone.
Anybody else see behaviour like that?

Stickmount update available to make it work with 4.2!

BBC media player also works for me, even thought the playstore says it is incompatible with version 4.2! For some reason you need both the BBC media player and the iplayer for the iplayer to function! Get the apk files of the net.

Here's a link to instructions and one of the apk's http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1789385

What is so good about getting this latest update?

Because the update to android 4.2 cause stickmount not to function correctly.
Stickmount enables you to attach usb stick to nexus 7 via an otg cable!
