Usually paid out October to June. So if you have one, it would be for October and the next one will be later in November.
Can I ask when you entered in your details? I would like an idea of how long people are waiting?

I got my letter on Tuesday and entered the details that day. When I was on the phone last Friday, the lady told me I was approved and will get a later soon (which I did on Tuesday just gone) and I would be paid on the 23rd. I've seen people who entered theirs weeks ago and since haven't gotten a payment.

I got my letter to enter the bank details last thursday so that would have been the 8th and I entered them the following day.

What do you mean by this on the one hand you say this is the first I have heard of it and in the second line you say you already gave them a copy of your results and proof of attendance. Which is it?

These items were requested in the initial information pack becuase I distinctly remember contacing the school to obtain a letter of attendance.

I mean this is the first I have heard of needing my leaving results and a letter from my old school. I was originally told I only needed my degree results and proof of attendance at undergrad level. I don't see why I need my leaving results it was four years ago at this stage.

In fairness I applied in June and I still don't know if its approved yet somebody has fcuked up and is trying to cover it methinks.

    Hey guys, another quick question.

    So I've been awarded

Award: Full maintenance and 89% Fee's adjacent
    Maintenance Grant: 1,055.56

Is that 1,055.56 for the whole year?

Got first installment yesterday. No back date though. So relieved.

Just got two messages saying thanks for submitting your documentation.

Hopefully it's not far from being accepted

Well that's ridiculous, I got the full grant last year but had to leave in December due to some problems. And now I'm getting €116 a month when my circumstances are worse than last year?

Edit: I realize I'm not entitled to the first instalment from last year but this is cut a lot more than that.

If you feel that it was the wrong decision, you should appeal the it.

According to SUSI there is a rep on here to answer questions " We have put a representative on boards.ie to address issues raised by applicants through this forum." Anyone know who it is?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

That is only to keep the Irish Media happy, in any PR disaster feed the lazy journalists first and make them believe you are doing something.

Does anyone have any info on back payments?
Robbie posted a while ago saying back payments would be made on the first month, but I got 1 month's worth as my first payment on Friday.

The payments start from October through to June. Not September like last year. You should receive Octobers payment at the end of November. :)

They just said all my fees will be paid and that I have been awarded the special adjacent rate. They also told me to enter my bank details online :)

Mildly irritating that you know more than one of the SUSI employees :pac:

Yeah, I was given the non-adjacent special rate.
On the letter they sent me it was awarded as 100% Maintenance, then had the amount for the special rate.

i'm just disgusted that they didn't give me the spacial rate as i clear meet the qualification for be a lot, i looked over my mothers income for 2011 from her bank records and we got less than 8,000 euro for the year from one parent family payment which is two of the requirements for the spacial rate and the gave me the normal rate so it is just annoying that i have to appeal something that is clearly wrong

edit: not to mention the special rate is equal to near 75 percent of our total income

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 316 ✭✭pauly58

Yes, my son did finally get the special rate, first payment received Friday.
Initially we were told by susi zero though.
Hope more people start to get payments.

Ours was due to the efforts of our local TD.

You probably just got October's payment. You should get another payment this month. :)

You should appeal the decision if you really think it was the wrong decision.
