Stuck in work, but apparently there are over 50.000 people watching this game on RangersTV, at about £5 a head.

This is definitely the way forward.

Unfortunately around 40,000 of them missed the first half an hour because the system crashed...

2-1 at half time, Jig and Little for rangers.
    'Shire down to 10 men.

Chris Graham absolutely demolished Speirs live on air yesterday, totally humiliated him.

    It was glorious.

Best of luck to Sandy Jardine fighting that horrible illness. Would not wish it on anyone and I hope he recovers quickly and completely. Football rivalry means nothing in the scheme of these things.

And what a night it was been to many European games and the atmosphere was up there with the best.
It was also EB's second European experience

Out of interest, when that Neil Patey guy gleefully says that the tax payer will end up shafted out of money anyway since the oldco can't afford to pay whatever sum they'll be ordered to, what would then have happened had they lost the case andh ad to pay £50m or whatever? He's basically saying the RFC carcass won't be able to pay a £5m bill, so what was even the danger of losing the case?

It seems to be a bit like a convicted serial killer celebrating that his 200 year sentence has been halved. I hope I'm not being overly dramatic ;)

Really it's simple at the moment the oldco is in the throes of being liquidated whether that bill could have been paid when all this first started is what should be being asked instead HMRC decided in there wisdom to go down another route ANC may end up with nothing because of it and you expect Rangers fans to have any sympathy

Well.. to be honest I do. Now I'm not saying I'd chip in if it were my club but it would strike me as a bit odd for a club who professes a loyalty to the British Crown to not put together a "Fighting Fund" to pay monies avoided through deceit. Especially since Rangers fans clearly have a lot of time for the marvellous work carried out by the armed forces, and love to show their support for them - these are men and women who are dying in their noble peace keeping missions in Iraq and Afghanistan due to lack of resources.

It would be puzzling for a club's fans to continue in their loud support for and loyalty to an establishment while at the same time smugly wringing their hands at the prospect of shafting them out of money.

This is not about the British armed forces and really peddling that stuff to me is pointless this is about a government agency who went about there business with incompetence. Allowing documents to be leaked and pushing an agenda that led to the club almost being destroyed Sorry you can't expect the fans to accept it meekly. Everything points to Whyte now you would think an agency with there sweeping powers would be able to bring him to justice

Maybe if yer bookkeeping was done better, the taxman would havent have spent so much time auditing ye. HMRC had collared ye already at this stage for tax evasion in another case. Remember, it was Rangers appeal that led to the hold up and ye got a judgement that puts the pressure on the trustees of the EBT's rather than the club which is a victory of sorts but it doesnt clear up the issue of undeclared contracts and the rules that applied to all SPL clubs during this policy at the club. Heaping the blame onto HMRC and Whyte is lame really.

If they were really loans surely they would have been paid back during administration?! :pac:

Really do you read posts I never mentioned the SPL carry on I only spoke about HMRC and sorry of course they must shoulder responsibility. You say it was the appeal ( note I know you can read so won't be as childish as to put it in bold) so it should never have taken as long to get the judgement also if MIH knew three weeks ago why did we only find pug the other day surely HMRC should have released these findings to the club at thd same time. Now note well there is no mention of the SPL shenanigans as that is a different issue

At least the Elgin game was called off well in advance. Although you'll always have fans inconvenienced to some extent.
Looks like it's grim up north!
