Call your bank and say it to them. Whoever is behind the counter in the petrol station will most likely not have a notion.

I called bank and bank told me to go to petrol station...

Self service express fuel pumps my hole!

Went to petrol station on Tuesday and had to use the express pump. Young fella ( worker there ) told me to use 60eu option and if I use less it will be charging only the amount filled in.
So I poped my laser in, chose 60eu, filled for 44eu and put pump back. Pressed for ticket ( I guess receipt ) and I got a receipt for 44eu.
All grand. I check online banking today and see Pentecostal station taking that 44eu... Grand. And now I see a standing payment of 60eu to petrol station this morning. WTF?!?! ( it actually took 60eu already )

Will have to go t petrol station today after work... Lovely.

It takes the 60 as insurance. Exact same thing happened me using the Great Gas self service place on the N2. You will get the 60 back in a few days or maybe longer if you're with a different bank than the petorl station. Never used them again after that

Anyway. I went to petrol station and I was told that my 60 quid it in the limbo and should be refunded in a few days.

Well, that me using that shiet last time!

Yup. Disaster if you're juggling a few direct debits etc. cash or laser at the till is the only way, unless you are stuck after hours (even then the self service doesn't always work)

What is really sad, it took me longer to fill it up and pay with this express self service, then just fill it up and pay at the counter.... Plus I got additional hassle.
    Stupid prick of an idea...

Doesn't work well with laser cards. Reckon its more designed for credit cards

The Tesco express self service is great. I always used that when I bought petrol there. Shame their petrol doesn't seem to get on as well with my car as others does.

None of that hold business from them either, just a straight froward Laser debit, none of this option choosing either, just put card in, put in yor pin and then it limits the fill to €99. Whatever you put in generally turned up 2-3 days after on your statement.

Something similar happened to me recently, I gave the woman my laser card to get food, she pulled the card out of the machine before being told so cancelled the transaction, then they redid the transaction, and so effectively I paid twice for about 10days.
The banks tell you it's actually the businesses fault as its up the way the process the transactions off the machines, or some bull!!

You just have to wait and see, but yeah the new self service pumps are a waste of time, as they don't have a fill up option. So I don't bother with them any more just pay in shop and be done, then it gives me the oppurtunity to wonder around the shop and freak the person out who is waiting behind my car at the pump!!

What the hell is going on with liberty insurance? Shutting down all counters???? It's looking like I won't be able to pay for the insurance for my car in time. Great

    The insurance tale continues!

I desperately rang round everyone I could think of, googling many more....

As a result, I now have a new policy, fully comp, temp transferrable option, windscreen cover for €40 less. Just going to pay up tomorrow to a counter and areal person, not by postal order!

    Thanks axa :)

I've been with Axa a few years now, they dropped my renewal by 1/3 when I rang up with online quotes that were cheaper :)

Went to look at an E270 earlier in the week. Walked away because we couldn't settle on a price, we were only €100 in the difference (€4400, €4300) It was only 10 minutes away from me so I didn't mind walking away.

Was expecting him to call me back that day but he never did. Just got a call from him asking did I still want to buy it. I told him yes but my offers gone down to €4k. He nearly had a heart attack! Wonder if he'll ring back :pac:

If anyone asks, you have the laptop connected to the ECU and you're in the process of data logging in order to map it :pac:
